I had a Yamaha 242 Limited that I bought new for about $40,000 including a galvanized trailer. I took it in the ocean and it was a great boat for the money. At these prices Though I found it a bit underwhelming, it was reliable and had great seating per foot. It wasn't super well planted and tended to be a bit drifty, it also was terrible at any big chop as the bow is very low. A fine value for a weekend lake boat under 45,000. I think I'd buy a Chap or Regal for similar transaction values, personally I'd buy a Cobalt outboard as my next boat, way more versatile. If you want a wake/surf boat, better options as well! Don't see how this fits in. It's pretty and nice though, just should be $60k tops

So nice but something I don’t understand is how the ar240 had 2 non supercharged h.o. Engines and it can go 52-53 with one person on the boat so how does this boat only go 54 with almost 150 more horsepower

This is a lot wider taller and longer, lot more weight with the triple ballast system too.

It’s the same pumps running at the same top end speed. Top end isn’t going to move much, but I’m pretty sure that you’ll feel the difference on the way to top end.

No, the SVHO engines are only available on the 255 series. Every other twin engine 21 footer and 25 footer get the 180HP high output engines. Top speed differences is only about 5mph or so.

I used to love yamaha but I switched to chaparral. Like the feel of one throttle for 1 engine plus the sun lounge. The ladies love the lounge. I wish they’d all put a filler cushion in the cockpit so I could sleep on it.

Couldn't agree more, just got a 2020 23 ft Bryant with a real V8 and a forward facing Volvo drive. It takes a little too get used to but it's a great boat.

It’s got no more ballast than the 242. Just near to impossible to put enough ballast far enough back and still keep that swim platform.

Nice boat for Sur. Remember. It’s not a wake boat. It’s okay for wake, good for towing great for ripping around zipping through the water. A wake boat is meant fir surfing and too end boats run 450 k low end 100k used 40k to 200k. Have fun out there with what ever you like and can afford. Having fun is most important.

Or figure out how to weight it down for real wave. I have never seen a boat not needing to be tweaked for a long hard pushing wave.
