I had an envision as a loaner for a bit, it was the best car I have ever driven, yes there's a bit of torque steer, but tbh, its quick. I know the people watching this wont see this but with 228 hp and the torque just pushing you above the speed limit. for the TWO WEEKS i had it, it was one of the best vehicles i have ever had the chance of driving. its an amazing car with LOTS of extras. when i picked up my loaner i read the pricing sheet, 43 grand. I made sure I got every penny. I never had a complaint of the car. Its quick, it sounds great when you put your foot down, and it moves. It boots, scoots, and boogies

The previous generation had a much more powerful engine available and generally considered to be a massive fail on behalf of Buick. This new generation helps with that. But, Buick had a massive gap between the Envision and the Enclave. The compact Envision to one of the largest midsized suvs in the class, the Enclave. They are truly missing an opportunity to have a midsize, 2 two row suv. Something similar to a Blazer, XT5, Ford Edge, etc.

I had a 2013 Ford Escape Titanium for 9 years wife loved it,but didn’t care for the new model and wanted a car with a little more room. We chose the 2021 Buick Envision Essence black on black with panoramic roof and passed on the awd. Have had it for 6 months now and very pleased with the performance , quiet and smooth ride. Now that they put the new model on the Cadillac XT4 platform the wide track look is awesome. The infotainment with Apple car play is great. Alexa doesn’t all. Drove the cx5, rav4, and crv, this vehicle for the price won. Many safety features.

I wish consumers would give this vehicle more of a chance. Buick has done some really awesome things with this vehicle. Hey, At least the Information Screen isn't an iPAD on the dash!! Sound deadening and ride comfort, awesome. I'll bet if there were blindfold tests on this vehicle, consumers would choose it. If Buick could just get their marketing straightened out, they wouldn't be faced with the "It's for old people" all the time. IF this had a Mazda badge on it... everyone would be all over this car! I'd say it's more comfortable than a Mazda CX-5 and even more luxurious.

This one and prior generations are quite good performers for the discounted prices. We had a 2016 Envision Prem ll that had GM Hyperstrut, similar to Civic Type-R off set front strut to quell torque steer, and it was very whippable for a compact SUV. Consumer Reports Emergency Lane Change Test, braking from 60 mph. Buick is in such a odd place in the market. They could make it nicer/more luxurious but then it could eat into Cadillac sales so they have to keep it just a step below, which also makes it less appealing.

That’s the thing I don’t get . The Envision starts at like $32k and shares a platform with the Cadillac XT4. Which starts at $35k-$36k. Buick is supposed to be luxury but not full fledged luxury like Cadillac yet theres a ~$3k price gap between the 2 SUVs? I don’t understand GM.

I almost feel GM could solve that issue by moving Cadillac just a bit further upmarket. Maybe sell more prestige vehicles that compete with ultra high end Audi, Mercedes, and BMW and allow Buick to move into the regular luxury space, GMC also needs to either die or GM needs to adopt Hyundai, Kia’s strategy of one brand focuses on sporty styling and design (Kia) while the other focuses on comfort and more high end interiors (Hyundai)

The original Envision was on Delta ll platform similar to Cruise and Equinox/Terrain. The 2021+ is based on Epsilon ll which has been under a number of vehicles but currently shared with Cadillac XT4. Only Buick that was made in Germany from Opel was the Regal Sportback and TourX wagon.

GM will actually be phasing in its VSS (Vehicle Strategy Set) platforms, which are divided into 4 different platforms for specific types of vehicles and can be adjusted for size. We already see this in the VSS-F platform, which underpins the Buick Encore GX/Chevy Trailblazer. EV platforms and the Corvette are excluded from VSS.

This car starts at 37k lol, imo this is one of the worst compact SUVs for this price. You can get a Genesis, full-loaded Mazda, or Acura at this price point, it's not far from German manufacturers with its pricing, just not the same quality and features. It should really start at 7-10k less to at least compete with current offerings. But for some reason, you're replying to people trying to prove that this car is above and beyond in comparison with other brands when in reality, it's one of the worst cars in this price range. It's not even hard to figure out that your single like on all your comments is most likely from yourself, lol.

@@normt430 This version starts at $37k wtf. I just looked, the cheapest offer for a new, 2021 Essence variation on Autotrader in my area is $38k. You can literally get a fully loaded CX-5 Signature for cheaper than Essence’s MSRP. Why are you protecting a poorly made GM car that is built in China, hahaha. Get over it, it’s the worst choice in the segment. Either you’re a child whom’s parents made a bad decision to purchase this Buick, so now you’re trying to prove that this is the best car in its class, or you made a bad decision and now trying to cheer yourself up. Cannot you buy a Japanese CUV with surround camera, Safety Seat, and heads up display for that much? Even Lexus doesn't offer a HUD or Safety Seat. We rented a 2017 Ford Escape SE AWD for a 6 hour trip to another state to pick up the Buick Envision. I was asking myself what Ford does to the Lincoln to make it quieter, better handling, and better seat cushions. I thought I was going to get tinnitus it was so loud. The throttle was responsive and the brakes were very good, but the steering and and handling was terrible. We did manage 33 mpg with the cruise set at 65 mph though, which was great for AWD and torque converter transmission. My butt was so sore from sitting on 1.3" of seat cushion. When we traded the Envision on Regal TourX they gave $2,500 more than we owed plus the taxes that were financed and we got $9,000 off MSRP on the TourX.

Caution when buying the 2022 Envisions. While the Build and Price Buick website shows that the electric full adjustable passenger seat is available, due to chip shortages it is no longer available. A real deal breaker for a semi luxury GM SUV. I'm going to look elsewhere.
