Still contemplating on between the 1000 or the 850. I don’t really don’t feel like they’re that far apart on price ,but having that two up would really be nice. Have fun and be safe.
@TechGearwithZack3 жыл бұрын
The only difference really is the physical size of the machine, thee engine is larger but the extra weight and size almost cancel out the extra cc's. The 850 performance to size ratio is almost unbeatable. I went for the 850 because its smaller, having a tighter turning radius and much easier to maneuver in tight situations. Also the 850 seat is plenty big enough for a passenger the just wont have a dedicated foot rest. So if that is something you need then the 1000 might be better for you. I ride alone 99 percent of the time so the 850 is a perfect fit for me

The point is I have an extra set of wheels/tires for a completely different purpose. Who cares if I want to take it through the mud with all terrain tires to see how it will handle it? It is my fourwheeler isn't it?

Beautiful machine. I’m about ready to order the Outlander 850 Max North Edition. I just wish it would come with the same locking diff as the XMR instead of the Visco-Lok. Not planning on doing any mudding, rather snow plowing in Michigan so I should be ok.

The locker on XMR is the Visco Lock if I'm not mistaking. Unless its beefier for the XMR I think its just a generic can am locker

Hi, I like your video. I’m considering buying the XMR or the XTP. I have a maverick X.3 for mud riding, I would like to be able to take the four wheeler to the park with us as a secondary bike, but more importantly I still want to be able to use it for hunting and riding around the property. The X MRs that I have seen in person are crazy stiff rear suspension. I just sold my 650 XT, it was like riding on pillows. You are one of the only people I have found that installed what I call turf tires. (I would do this also) Here’s my question, have you tried or know anybody that has tried dialing back the preload so that the SMR would ride more like a XT.? Why can’t they just have put the selectable locker on the XTP 850!!!! Lol. I’m going back-and-forth between the two bikes daily depending on what I’m thinking about when I get up. Loose the front rack, but gain locker diff…. Or plush suspension and both racks, normal tires. I’m getting a little older now days, and the stiff riding bikes aren’t is awesome on my back as they once were. I would appreciate your thoughts
@TechGearwithZack3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t tried softening up mine, but I have some friends who might have done it before and I will check with them and let you know. I will say I haven’t rode an xtp before, but my bike honestly rides really good. You wouldn’t think it would because of the tires and the suspension setup but it handles excellent. I think it just depends on what type of rider you are. I’m sure you can soften the xmr up but if I remember correctly I think the xtp shocks have more travel, still Fox shocks though. I thought the same thing as you before I bought mine and when I rode it I was very surprised by the ride quality. Remember it’s no cheap machine, it ought to ride pretty decent!

According to can am the manta green XMR 850 doesn't have the front diff lock either, just the yellow 850's. Considering the same bike but apparently maintenance on the outlanders is a goddamn nightmare.
@TechGearwithZack3 жыл бұрын
That’s right, the yellow one is the only one that has diff lock. I wouldn’t think it’s too bad, it is a high performance machine, but I think it depends on how you ride it and what you ride it in. Obviously if you ride in water all the time you will need to flush it more and look for certain things to ware out easier
@shawndejong66993 жыл бұрын
