Excellent job man. There's no excuse for basic maintenance being made this complicated though. A couple panels maybe but you had to practically disassemble the damn thing.

I bought a new Honda Rubicon last year and just recently bought a new can-am outlander 450. The Honda is easy to change the fluids. This looks complicated, but time will tell. Thank you for the video.

Nice job, yes they are definitely a pain to service , especially the first time when you have to figure it out. The first time I serviced mine I was frustrated. My old Honda takes 1/3 the time to service but the fun factor of the xmr makes it worth the extra time .

Perfect, dude. Ordered my first can-am (theoretically will be in April(ish) 2021). Have heard about the PITA this job is and now I see why. This is crazy man lol. What was can-am thinking? I've been riding since the 80s. They have somehow managed to make a 10 minute process into an all day thing. Guess they see $$$ signs because 3/4 of the owners will probably bring them in to avoid the headache. Looks like I'll be taking off a day of work to change my oil. Subbed, my guy. Good stuff. Thanks for the knowledge.

Renegades are much easier to work on than Outlanders. I have both now and have had many of both in the past and Rene's are always easier to work on.too much plastic covering the Outty's. I always loathe oil changes and gearbox changes on the Outty. The front and rear diffs are fine. Great video BTW. excellent detail and editing.

Haha true, I’ve never owned one. Always go Honda, was thinking about picking up a outlander xmr 1000 off a buddy who got laid off so here I am. I looked up average service fee and it’s around 400 for what he did in the video so that’s probably why 😂

How many hours did you waited to do the first maintenance brotha? I have a new can am xmr 1000 just got 15 hours on it I’ve heard diferente stuff about the first maintenance so idk if a should do it now or wait a little longer

I will definitely do a video my next ride! I do a rinse with 25 degrees pressure tip, then degrease with pump sprayer (purple power) then form gold class Maguire’s, use a blower to whip it off then SC1 her down

I have a 2016 can am outlander 1000 xtp do you have a issue with the exhaust getting hot. Mine melted the rear trunk lid and melted the red reflector under the left rear fender and also melted the fender.
@Leepegues3 жыл бұрын
No I’m not having any issues with over heating. Are you running a tune on your machine?
@1Y2ae3 жыл бұрын
It’s usually because debris collects around the heat shield for the exhaust especially underneath the seat area which can only be accessed by tearing the bike apart. Pain in the butt.

How do you get the back bolt off by the sway bar? There's no possible way to get a wrench on the nut. No one ever shows how to get it
@Leepegues3 жыл бұрын
Are you referring to the gear box drain bolt?
@RobWall12183 жыл бұрын
@@Leepegues no I was referring to the 10 mil bolt and nut that holds the side panel/ footwells in place. Its right next to the swingarm grease zerk
@Leepegues3 жыл бұрын
@@RobWall1218 gotcha, once you take that side panel off, you will reach down from the inside near the gearbox! It’s a b word to get out have to turn slower! I used a ratchet wrench to get back their! Let me know if this helps
