I love my Pacifica hybrid as a family vehicle. For 90% of my short daily drive, I get all the benefits of an ev. And when we’re on long family road trips, I have the convenience of a fast gas refuel. No need to go out of the way detour to find an ev charger or wait for an hr plus to recharge.

Great review, thanks for covering all of the details. I am a long time Sienna owner, the minivan style has served our family well. For the money the minivan does everything we can think of and I just can’t see paying more for a different type of vehicle that is not as versatile. The Pacifica Hybrid is definitely on my list as I look to replace our Sienna.

That $7,500 federal tax credit is hard to beat. On PacHy Facebook page they are trading in less than 2-year old vans for a new one and making money! You can't do that with a Toyota!

I have a 2020 Pacifica Hybrid Limited in black with the "S" package, all blacked out, wheels, etc. Got tint on the front windows as well. It's REALLY slick, very easily the best looking minivan on the market.

This is about as close to a perfect minivan that there is. Hopefully it is reliable as that seems to be an issue for this brand but other than that, what a vehicle. I would love this thing! :-)

Being able to control when the electric is being used would be nice as well. I would say Chrysler should call this a PHEV but that recent article about people getting a PHEV & reverting back to a gas only its probably best just to call this a Hybrid.

The article that headlines 20% of PHEVs reverted simply neglects to say 80% were happy to keep their PHEVs. (And, California stiffened the rules about what vehicles qualify for clean-air stickers that allow use of the HOV lanes, leaving the very popular Prius Prime out of consideration. Deciding to drive something else now that you can no longer use the HOV lane as a single driver counts as a reversion.)

Part of the reason for not putting a fast-charge system in is really, as big as the battery is, it's not big ENOUGH. Even on a fast-charging system, for maximum battery life in number of charge cycles it can do without degrading, you still shouldn't charge it faster than "full charge in about an hour". The Pacifica already charges in about two hours, charging in one hour will only make a difference very rarely, and the price of not being charged is... using a little gasoline.

I hate having screens for the 2nd row. Any tech they put in is obsolete by the time you buy the car. It's better if they just put in a good mounting system and USB plugs for your tablets.

It’s a Clek. I love the company but wouldn’t recommend this booster u less you try it in your car first. It’s quite wide and can be really hard to get at the seat belt latch on some cars

The Pinnacle and Limited are the same price after you add the Theater and Safety packages to the Limited. (Fam Cam is bundled with the rear theater package)

Thanks for sharing! Can you tell me - are the wireless headsets and remote standard and come with the pinnacle, or do they have to be purchased separately? Ours didn’t include those :(. I also can’t find any additional accessory items available online for purchase, such as a cargo tray liner, 3rd row floor mat, etc. Thanks if you can help :)

I was surprised to learn that the new Sienna comes with ventilated rear brakes. Why is this? Do other minivans do? are they expecting big break loads?Being a hybrid I would expect most of the brake load to be done by the electric motors.

For me, I’d get the Pacifica mainly due to the PHEV. So nice to be able to use EV on a larger vehicle.

So, the hands free closing part, as a person with young kids, I would NOT WANT. I don't want my kids accidentally closing the doors on themselves. Opening is fine, definitely a big no on the auto closing.

The hands free inky works if you have the key fob with you. If your kids aren’t carrying the key, it won’t work so no worries. It can also be disabled in case you dont want it at all. It’s a great feature. Also the power doors all have anti pinch to minimize getting squished.

It’s interesting Chrysler put a 4cyl PHEV in the wrangler and a 6cyl PHEV in Pacifica. They both used to solely rely on the Pentastar 3.6L V6.

From an engineering prospective, the van is designed to carry more live load than the wrangler, also the veichle itself is hesvier so it does Make sence to throw that V6 on the van. On the other hand the wrangler popularity they are now tring to get new costumers incresing MPGs with the smaller 4cylinder engine.

@@pwrcycles4735 Good points. But, I just checked; the Pacifica hybrid has GVWR of 6300 lbs and a 4 door Wrangler has GVWR of 5000lbs. Also the Wrangler must have worse aerodynamics. Also also, the Sienna has moved to a hybrid 4cyl! 🙃

No we had no issue but we only had it for a week. My neighbors hasn’t had any issue with theirs though.

Mine only has 6k miles on it, then I got the “service battery at dealer” message and it won’t start. I had it towed to the dealer, and they’ve had it for a week and can’t fix it - they said they don’t know what’s wrong? What are my options? I’m shocked - this is a 2021 50k+ vehicle with just 6k miles!! Even more frustrating - they don’t have a rental car available which is part of the warranty agreement! Someone please help!

That’s terrible. Maybe at least ask them to cover the cost of you renting a replacement vehicle since this is under warranty. They really should take care of you better than that. Sorry to hear.

Yes they can. The charging port cannot be locked.

It is a great family minivan, but given it is for family, Chrysler reputation may be the reason enough not to buy it, the sales chart confirms it, Toyota Sienna outsells Pacifica almost three to one!
