I had a 2018 Pacifica Limited as a lease vehicle, so I had to return it in August. I got a 2012 Odyssey now. Not as much technology, it got 130k miles right now, but drives and shifts absolutely smoother than a 2018 Pacifica at 45k miles. We noticed right away the seats are much comfortable. The way Honda handles the road, Chrysler can't be even close. We got tired on a long trips, but not on a Honda.

A Pacifica Limited AWD would have been a better comparison. Closer to the Honda's price and with the Stow and Go 2nd row seats. That one feature would keep me from going Pinnacle. To have a comfortable van with all the toys and be able to convert it into a hauler of lots of stuff in a couple of minutes, AND with AWD, then Bob's your uncle.

Random comments: - my current FWD Odyssey is great in the snow. I wouldn't even think of AWD unless I was in hilly terrain which I am not. Don't need the extra complexity, repair costs nor added $$ sales price. - I'll take 19' tires than 20' and a better ride. No contest. Give me 18" tires & better the ride. Auto companies are forcing larger tires across the board trading off ride quality. - agree that the Honda exterior is not pleasing to the eye. Horrible styling. - rather than diss Honda's ECO mode claim, say what it is that they are claiming. And wouldn't it make sense to have the eco mode option if on a highway trip? - my family has already voted, Honda's second row seats win hands down. Who cares if I have to remove them a couple of times a year. Those sitting in the back would much rather have the more comfortable seats.

To me, there is absolutely NO way I choose a Chrysler over a Honda or Toyota for that matter. Seen too many poor quality Chrysler cars and Vans thru the years. Poor gas mileage too. Kept an eye on reliability throughout the years, and even at the most reliable (2020) it's a 2/5 Consumer Reports reliability score. Honda is 5/5 so I guess I'll eat the mileage to not have all the cool electronic stuff fail, or worse, get my family stranded on the side of the road.

I guess I need an advice from an actual professional at this point. I have been driving Odyssey 2010 for a couple of years. It has almost 150000 miles on it. Drives really smooth so far. No issues what so ever. We have a son with special needs. One of those needs is he is on a wheel chair. He is getting bigger and heavier so we decided to sell this van and get something newer. Eventually we shall add a lift gate for his wheel chair. If anyone of you has something similar going on, I would appreciate the advice. What is the best option in my case: Pacifica, Odyssey or Sienna. The entire 3 raw will be gone as it will be used for his wheel chair access. Upfront we shall seat our other 3 kids. I will need to get something that will be very durable and will last me at least as much as this Honda lasts so far. I would also prefer more or less gas efficient vehicle. It is just wearing out slowly but surely, I guess. Plus my Odyssey 2010 does consume bunch of gas. Installing all the equipment on old Odyssey and then re-assembling it once it hits 250000 miles plus just does not make any sense to me. I would highly appreciate an honest and friendly advice. Thanks much.

Rented one to go to DisneyWorld with family and put 2,400 miles on it in a week. Bought a new 2021 Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid Limited about 3 weeks later because we liked it so much. I got over 1,100 miles with the first fill-up. If you charge it overnight on a standard 110 outlet, you get 32-34 miles on pure electric. It's amazing how that adds up and saves gas. On gas in hybrid mode, for longer trips, it gets just over 30 MPG. My MPG, combined with the electric driving, is averaging 61 MPG. I never have to sweat out range because the engine kicks in when the battery power is exhausted. The vehicle has plenty of power in either mode and much more room and comfort than an SUV. I never thought I would purchase, or even consider, a minivan. But this seems to be the perfect combination of efficiency and comfort with lots of storage space when needed. Plus, it came with every driver assist and safety function, including a world-class audio system with CarPlay.

Best we did was 2,550 miles (not a typo!) on a single tank of gas thanks to doing most driving in EV mode (and still had 1/4 tank left)! A few things here. Yes...Pacifica is the nicer of the two (probably the nicest minivan on the market) in terms of aesthetics. However...if you're only going to drive it 100,000 miles and then get a new one then fine....but if you want a van that will just go and go for forever then you go with a Toyota or Honda. Simple. Chrysler is the worst American Car company (except for Jeep...which is where all of their money comes from and goes out to developing). The 4 wheel plug-in hybrid for the Pacifica is super enticing...but you cannot trust it. It's their first real hybrid (outside of that really really bad SUV from a decade ago). Anyhow. It would be great if Chrysler figured out how to build great, long lasting engines and transmissions. But they don't. Until then. Buy a Toyota.

I owne town & country 2015 since new engine needs repair right after the extended warranty is gone (75,000) ..so no more 3.6L for me ..that’s plus bad gas mileage 1st 20,000 I was lucky to get 18/mpg now the most 21mpg …..now let’s talk about resale value…Honda one of the best to hold on that …Chrysler 😅 your money out of the window….no more Chrysler for me …I’m going crazy for the Grand Cherokee L …but sadly to get the 5.7L you have to pay over $65,000😇

Funny how they don't even mention that stow n go doesn't come on the pinnacle trim

@@rapclient4961 even the non hybrid pinnacle doesn't come with stow n go. Seats are thicker and can't fit in the bin. You would think these reviewers would test it out but I guess not

I would go for the Honda since the Chrysler will break down before 150,000 miles and are complete trashcans

Not true. I sold my first Chrysler Town and Country with more than 180k miles and still rolling nicely many years later, like a charm. It can depend on the care it receives throughout it’s life.
@thegentleman902 жыл бұрын
@@elaineenialle3594 I concur!!! My best friend had one as well. He was diligent with his maintenance and had no issues what so ever. By the time he sold it to one of our close friends as a back up vehicle, it had 406k miles and still running strong. Last time I inquired about it which was 6mos ago, it has over 500k now and still no issues. Oh and yes, all electronic works. Also my brother had an 2016 Odyssey. They had so much issues with it that they traded it for a 2020 Toyota Sienna AWD (True AWD) and they were very happy with it.

I couldn’t believe how unreliable the Honda’s were and how reliable the Pacifica is. Look up all the recalls on Honda. The Toyota is super weak feeling and when you get deep in the pedal that 4cylinder is embarrassingly pathetic sounding
@reggiethecommenter9137 Жыл бұрын
We are seriously looking at a Pacifica Limited instead of the Pinnacle because Pacifica the Pinnacle and the Hybrid don't offer 2nd row Stow and Go. For this video, the Limited would have been a better comparison to the Honda.

Why complain about not having 4 wheel drive when you dont even want it. If you want it get it. If you don't need it, get a Honda.

Why does it matter, it's using Mopar parts and shares component with Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. You shouldn't be worried about parts availability if the brand does go out of business which I doubt will happen.
