20,000 miles on our early built 2017 Pacifica Limited. It’s been a very solid and reliable vehicle so far. Before that we had a 2015 Odyssey Touring...also a good vehicle, but the Pacifica Limited offered soooooo much more. As for the new Odyssey, I like it, but I still feel it falls short to the Pacifica for tech and interior. Reliability, well I’m not gonna argue Honda’s reliability, but so far our Pacifica’s been great. Tri-pane pano roof, 20spkr HK audio, full range adaptive cruise, LED interior lighting, dual blu-ray screens....stuff like that ain’t gonna happen on the Odyssey.

I love how he is comparing a 2017 Pacifica and 2018 Odyssey. A whole lot changes in a year of a production car. I personally have owned two town and countries and one Pacifica and right now I'm driving my brothers 2017 Odyssey, for over two months. I am not going to bash the Honda, but if you want comfort and just that cool factor, I'll tell you that you wont get that from the Honda. It's a fantastically put together car and it does everything that it says it does. and it does it well, but when you buy a car for that much money you want something else that functionality cant buy. You sit higher int he Pacifica, you have more space, the front seats are so much more comfortable, the arm rest is just right, the leg room is better, the trim looks nicer, the cabin is so much more quieter, the stereo is louder, the bass is more thumpy, the ride is 100 times more comfortable and there so much more that you cant understand unless you owned both. It feels more like a car rather then a tin can. I don't know how else to put it. Its just so different to drive and be in. You really need to check it out, or just drive it and you''ll see what I mean.

Our Pacifica is too low to the ground. In 6 months of ownership, we had to repair/replace 2 bumpers and these computerized air shutters that break off when you scrape the front bumper. Cost us over $2000.00 to fix both times. This last time the shutter thing rubbed through the air conditioning condensor-we have no air conditioning. Don't buy if you live in a hilly area! Or get a lift kit for it!

I would like to see this guy making the same comparison after 5 years of use. Reliability is the number one thing that someone should buy a Honda. To me it’s very annoying to go to mechanic to fix stuff even if it’s under warranty. Who has time for that ?

You lease a Pacific & buy an Odyssey. In the states a Pacific Plug In Hybrid is much cheaper if you make enough to milk the full Federal Tax Credit + any state incentives.
@CaptainDawg026 жыл бұрын
Since families buy minivans, giving more credence to the stow and fold seats is pretty ignorant. Why? Because you will never fold your second row into the floor. Plus, those seats are not comfortable for adults on a long road trip. They are very thin given that they have to stow into the floor. And the most important test for most buyers is how easy is it to configure multiple car seats/booster seats in the car. Almost endless possibilities in the Odyssey where it's a pain in the Pacifica to have multiple options to configure the seats, but also just installing them. lastly, the Odyssey gives you an actual middle seat in the second row a grown adult can fit in.

If you live in the city, or if your commute is not too long, maybe... But actually, with FCA reliability issues and their tendency to release technology way before it's reasonably reliable, I'm VERY skeptic about any of their products, especially one as expensive as a plug-in vehicle that will depreciate at FCA speed (fast fast fast).
@000OO0OOO07 жыл бұрын
The hybrid tech is mature. FCA made its first hybrid around 2008, IIRC. The depreciation is not as bad as it seems. It is calculated off MSRP and doesn't account for the discounts, which are quite sizeable for the gas version.

Electrical Gremlins. Warranty DENIED. Jiffy Lube Oil changes not acceptable.. seriously. I'm out 17k. The van was dead at 35k miles. UPDATE: After about a year and getting lawyers involved to get Chrysler EU to honor the warranty the dealer finally found out what was wrong. Bad Cam (Lost magnetism). Look at that.. the oil didn't do it. Long year without the family car. Only lost a year of depreciation and received a year of headaches dealing with this nightmare. Van is now sold. To give credit Chrysler US decided to pick up the bill eventually.

I've owned exclusively Hondas and Toyotas for the past 20 years (still have an accord). In the minivan lease market the Honda is waaaaaaaay overpriced. Go ahead and price a lease, they want over $600 a month with $2k down. We took the plunge on the Pacifica and left the brand, love it so far. Fit and finish on the Odyssey is behind the Pacifica and electronics absolutely suck in the odyssey compared to the Pacifica. Pacifica feels much more nimble too, Honda is clumsy and too large. Reliability remains to be seen, but I leased so not as worried. Honda probably wins there most likely, but we will see. BTW, the vacuum in the Pacifica actually works, and works REALLY well.

Lavonte A , Well most of us want something reliable that does not break down every single day ( Chrysler is what I am talking about in being super unreliable )

Right now a lot of people love the Pacifica but the Odyssey is always better

I have loved my 2018 Pacifica....but, just found out they have an engine failure at about 77,000 miles. Beware. Look it up

Get the Pacifica but don’t go too far where there’s no towing service & cellphone coverage. This is not a joke! Don’t put your children at risk.

As I now own the newest Odyssey and have to drive a loaded Pacifica for the week there’s absolutely no doubt the Honda is far superior across the board. Don’t get me wrong. The Pacifica is nice, but the Odyssey is like the minivan you actually want to drive. The Odyssey is quite a bit quicker and having paddle shifters and sport mode turn it into a rocket ship. The seats in the 2nd row are far superior and wider. The drivers seats fits me like a glove all the way to my neck. The dash layout is much more intuitive and it looks more high-end. If you appreciate well built cars there’s just a whole different level of refinement these guys at TFL I don’t think even notice. I think driving trucks they don’t notice the differences which to me are significant. Glad I got to drive the Pacifica, but I want me Odyssey back.

Interesting....was it a Pacifica Limited you drove? Reason I ask is because the Pacifica Limited has a much nicer interior and tech and I feel the Pacifica is nicer across the board.....and yes we live Honda vehicles and have owned a previous gen Odyssey.

Chrysler birthed the minivan, but Honda and Toyota perfected it.

2 words - questionable reliability. Do we even need to go past that. It's a Chrysler product, they cheap out on the important things. Guaranteed you replace most of the front suspension components before you hit 100,000 miles.

Lol I'm actually dead, he said the Pacifica is faster when Honda is pushing towards more sporty minivans. Then he said that car play and Android auto are not standard on the odessey the hell it's not get your crap together.😂

Have one goober already, twins on the way, why am I watching this? Ohh right, practically, because we need a minivan as no SUV offers sliding doors on both sides to get infant seats out let alone a 2 year old with SMA. I really like the Honda Odyssey, as does my significant other, with the easy to slide seats. What we don't like are the finance costs as we don't want to lease. Resale value would be good, not so with the Pacifica. When you don't want a minivan, but know you need one. Ugh.

Our 2016 Kia Sedona SX will use 12.5L/100km all city driving with a 3.3L and a 6-speed. It's a dream to drive and all optioned up the same as other brands, it was several thousand dollars cheaper. 67,000 km and our only complaint is the crappie infotainment system. There also appears to be a defect in the front drive axles as we are ready for the 5th pair. All under warranty and under investigation by Kia Canada. It's been a stellar vehicle and we don't regret the purchase.

It seems like the Pacifica is such a great deal, but then it’s an FCA product... So prepare for monthly repairs.

Own both a 16 300S V6 and also a Pacifica Limited for a year now and not a single issue to report. On both vehicles. So far so good I usually buy Japanese. FCA has NOT let me down yet.
