as an education student who is yet to do her first prac (bring on June!), it’s crazy how different your classroom is compared to my rural town primary school 10 years ago. Definitely a lot of change for the better but still kinda mind boggling.

I’m so jealous! As a high school Eng/Hum teacher who is sharing an old arts room with a HPE teacher this year I am envious of your ability and freedom to decorate the room like this. I walked in to see the space today and I’m so uninspired about what I could do to jazz it up and make it an inviting place to learn without overspending or putting up resources that will just be destroyed by students and other classes.

What’s your school year like? Here in my region of USA it’s sept-early June will lots of holiday breaks!

Varies a little bit State to State ( as, like the US, Education is a State responsibility) but in the main the School year starts end of January and runs to mid December. It is split into 4 Terms, each approximately 10 weeks long ( depending on when Easter falls, but a complete school year is 40 weeks). Between eachvof Terms 1, 2 and 3 there are 2 week holiday breaks.at the end of Term 4, end of school year in December is the long summer break, which is around 6 weeks. Remember our Seasons are reversed to yours, being that we are in the Southern hemisphere.
