One of the little known perks is that you can sign up to attend lunch and dinner events at the fancy Athenaeum as part of being a participant! I am a student of one of the top high schools in Poland 🇵🇱 (XXXIII Copernicus HS) in mathematics-physics class (9th grade), and I am about to prepare for SAT to get over 1500 in order to get into one of the best US colleges. Also I am really interested in astronomy and I would want to write an Astronomical Olympiad at the national level, maybe I will have to try two times to become a finalist, but I think it’s going to be a great adeventure. Hey, I have a question like if I apply for ED for like UChicago and get accepted, Do I have to withdraw from other universities? Do I have to do that for sure? Like can we not just accept UChicago and wait for other RD decisions too?

Umm I’m actually not too sure about that. I’ve heard that u don’t have to, since you can reject an ED if they don’t give you reasonable financial aid, which is very rare tho. However, I think most people withdraw. You can ask your counselor or even the school itself, and they should give you a clear answer

thank you! I would say the best way to develop your English skills is the speak it more often, like in conversation, because that teaches you how to react faster. Also reading casual books or articles is really good too, so you can see good examples. I'm not familiar with the Toefl exam, but I bet there are books on how to improve your score. Hope this helps!

Congrats!! Caltech has a unique way of picking students, you'd have a much better chance to get in if you're a total physics nerd or engineering geek or math wizard, or something like that, you don't need to have much social work experience, certainly don't have to be good at sports (our sport teams are worse than being mediocre 😆), if you are a nerd, you'd find yourself easy to fit in. And more importantly, Caltech is probably the only elite school who doesn't put an ethnic cap on its prospective students (Asians are >40%).
