Thanks Mike 👍. Awesome video!! Must have quite a grain system to handle 2 combines with 12 row heads. Keeps those trucks busy.
@paulosanderson7853 жыл бұрын
Hey Mike, I've always wondered about something. Who controls where the grain is flowing into the cart? Does the tractor operator have cameras to adjust his speed, or does the combine operator adjust his? What if he is in heavy crop and can't speed up? Or do they communicate via radio?
@farmhandmike3 жыл бұрын
The combine operator has the best view of the cart to fill it as needed. Ideally the grain cart operator gets in position and runs a matched speed and lets the combine speed up or slow down to fill the cart.

@MikeLess, why do they keep the air dams on the trucks? Seems like it would be much easier on the carts without
@farmhandhank1533 жыл бұрын
Dick Lavy also has a large trucking company. They use some of those trucks during harvest so that's why the air dams are on .
@tomcander36693 жыл бұрын
@@farmhandhank153 ok I get it but still for 10 minutes worth of work on the day cabs, it sure would be simpler for the cart guys lol....especially when loading trucks on the road

@@joshpitts7256 maybe so but working 16 hour days or in the dark accidents happen....I would rather take them off then to damage a cart auger when it's go time.

Which spreader system on the combines do they like better in corn and soybeans?
@farmhandmike3 жыл бұрын
I don't know.
@snekkerenp80363 жыл бұрын
I'm Curious why they aren't running 16 row headers. Those class 8 combines can handle it. Is it the trucks and grain carts couldn't keep up? I see they have those great LSW tires on the combines. They should have devastators or stalk stompers on to protect them or is that a new thing that is just catching on?
@farmhandmike3 жыл бұрын
I don't ask farmers these questions but my guess is they plant with 24 row planters so the 12 row headers match up.

Matching the sound up to the drone shots takes lots of work and time. I did get a new microphone a while ago but perfecting the sound is something I can always improve on.

Case International FPT C13 six-cylinder Tier 4 diesel engine rated at 480... Yeah that was easy to read into the microphone, wasn't it? :-)) Gosh, corn harvest with COMMENTARY! :-)) "Case International harvester passes corn to the Case International tractor... HE SHOOTS! HE SCOOOORES!" One more thing I saw on youtube. :-))

Hey go ahead and make fun if you want. When I started doing the KZbin I did no voice over. Then I started getting lots of comments asking what was going on in the video. There is a lot of non farm people that enjoy these videos and like the explanation. I know my videos will never please everyone but according to my analytics I have a 98-99% like versus dislike. I’m guessing you’re in that dislike category but thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
@Maloy78002 жыл бұрын
@@farmhandmike I wasnt trying to induce change. I was just doing what you correctly identified as making fun! :-)) Actually I wasn't making fun of the commentary per se. I was mocking excessive numbers that are completely incomprehensible by ear. Other than that... If it brings you more subscribers, GODSPEED and good luck.

@farmhandmike3 жыл бұрын
Isn't that how the free market works? If you want something you have to outbid the others. He's a successful businessman so what's not to like.
@kobeyjoe23123 жыл бұрын
@@farmhandmike I agree, that is how the free market works. I’m not saying he’s doing anything that’s not allowed or that shouldn’t be allowed. I’m simply saying that I’ve seen smaller local farmers lose ground because of Dick Lavy Farms. Again, I understand that there’s nothing inherently wrong with anything he does. I guess I just have a poor opinion of someone who owns 10,000+ acres and still takes opportunities away from smaller farms. It doesn’t help the local community here
