Nathan Queen's shot on 16 was absolutely the shot of the round. For folks who have not played this course, that gap is barely wide enough for an ATV to go down. Plus the gap starts 100 ft away from the tee pad. Absolutely a beauty of a shot.
@danielcockerspaniel3 жыл бұрын
I would argue his putt on hole 1 was the most important shot of his round.
@Hypawolf3 жыл бұрын
@@danielcockerspaniel I could see that argument. But 16 was the hole that he clutched the victory I think. It pushed McBeth and Drew to play 17 super aggressive no matter what. Making the putt on hole 1 was a sign on continuous momentum from previous rounds, which is definitely still important in the grand scheme of things. I play this course quite frequently and holes 16 & 17 are no joke from the DGPT layout. It takes a perfect throw to even have a chance.

The sportsmanship of Paul McBeth is so great. We saw it at Worlds. Paul is a fierce, fierce competitor who is obviously one of the greatest to ever play. But at 2021 Worlds, he went from "I'm about to walk away with my 6th world title, and nobody can stop me" to "Man, I'm just happy to be here" after the Holy Shot. Still converted, still forced a playoff, still gunned for the title. You saw it again here on the 18th hole after Nathan's tee shot. It was Nathan Queen thanking the fans for coming out to watch and thanking us, the fans, for being there. He did it all 3 rounds...I think only 1 or 2 others did that and it certainly wasn't for all 3 rounds that I saw. From that moment on, I was a Nathan Queen fan for life.
