Think James is going to be proven right in the long run, one of the beautiful things about disc golf opposed to ball golf is there isn't really an economic barrier that keeps people from getting into the sport.
@GregVanGorp3 жыл бұрын
Just played the Toboggan Course yesterday. If I didn't risk my life climbing the trees to get the discs out of the trees and thorny vines, I would have lost $65 of discs in one round. When I golf, I don't lose equipment other than the occasional ball I found anyway. Losing discs is WAY more frustrating than a golf ball. Granted if you want really nice golf clubs, it'll cost you, but you can get into the sport with a garage sale set that's like $5

I have noticed a lot of former or even current baseball players starting to play disc golf a lot more and the mechanics for throwing a baseball and throwing a forehand are very close and that’s why us new disc golfers have a natural flick cause we’ve already learned that snap that you have to have to get the spin on the forehand that makes it fly like a bullet. That’s my opinion at least

exactly. I played baseball for 9 years and throwing a forehand (for me) is the exact same snap and grip as a fastball, just a different angle at which the fingers are held

Great tournament and coverage, thank you so much again! One thing, the crowd seems to be in the way ALL the time, on every hole. This has been so from the 1st round, the tournament staff should warn the spectators about this, it affects the players. Every sport has these selfish people that want the "best view". There should be assigned spectating areas, never on the edge of the fairway at exactly the distance these guys land, c'mon DGLO...
@jakobwest48112 жыл бұрын
I know this comment is old, but this past season I went to a few tournaments in person and honestly it wasn't enjoyable - especially Hornet's Nest. I even paid for the VIP tickets and I figured it would be a crowd of 10-15 following lead card...no, it was like 50-60 people. Everyone was fast walking and practically pushing to get close. It stressed my wife and I out so much we just left halfway through the round. It was a similar experience at other tournaments but we ended up following 2nd or 3rd card instead with more success. Following third card with Matty O was awesome and he loves to talk to the crowd. Any way, I write all this to say that fans trying to get close honestly ruins some of the magic of in person disc golf. It is really annoying to see people be like that. Especially after the rounds, people are literally reaching over each other to try and get pros to sign discs - I don't even understand the point, it seems so impersonal and hollow.
