I know people give Dodge crap for the car being so old, but many aspects of the car just never get old for we owners. Being 6'5, it's not even close on interior comfort, plus this thing is still an absolute boss, especially in Widebody. Even though I now have a Hellcat, the 392 is the Goldilocks of the Challenger lineup. The 392 will be all the power 90% of buyers need, plus it handles better without as much weight on the nose.
@bjornironsides64743 жыл бұрын
People that complain about it being old should stick to buying Euro cars then. There needs to be at least one company making stuff like this Challenger. Plus they sell like crazy so I don't think Dodge cares. I'm actually worried by the time I buy one of these, options I love could be gone (like a 6sp manual option).
@anthonysinclair26843 жыл бұрын
Hey man, genuine question for you since you seem to have some more Dodge know how than me. Im considering purchasing this exact trim Challenger for a daily. Would you consider this car a reliable daily if taken care of properly? Just don't want to spend money on a problem child lol

We've gotten so spoiled these days to be able to call a legit low 12 sec daily driver capable of 180+mph top end "relatively quick". This, the mustang and camaro all posts what would have been supercar numbers 30 years ago. A 12.2 112+mph 1/4 is most certainly "relatively quick"....lol. much rather have this with a shaker over a hellcat. This is 500hp of usable power....the hellcat is a burnout machine on regular street tires.

Warning: don't get the sunroof option if you are over 6'-1". I had worked out a deal via email and then went down to the dealer yesterday to purchase (45 minute drive), but I discovered in the test-drive that my head kept banging the bulge in the headliner where the tracks for the sunroof are. A non-sunroof Challenger gives me a good inch of clearance (I am 6'-3").
I bought this car February 12 off the showroom floor with 3 more miles on it after you drove it, not because of the wide body, but just because of the color, shaker, and 392 engine. Ancira Dodge was the only dealership in Texas to have this combo.

I’m so torn on getting the shaker, going with the three vented hood, or the nose snorkel that the hellcats have. I’m sticking with a scatpack but that Hellcat hood is sooo badass looking. I found a guy that was able to have the dealer change/install that hood onto his scat, but the other two are great as well! Dodge really kicking ass these days

I want one bad now too, but not quite ready to throw down. I really hope they don't lose these options when I'm ready to spec one out. I too can't decided on shaker, T/A, or standard 3 vent.. they all look awesome. I'm thinking widebody shaker, but i'm stuck on color too! f8? Go mango? Frostbite? this red? all look awesome.

Exterior is pure muscle car magic. Love the shaker hood, wide body fenders, and front and back are classic 70s design. Interior nothing inspirational, but admittedly I would prefer that Dodge spend their money on performance instead of on luxurious appointments. I think that the price is very reasonable for all that you get I just question whether or not the build quality would stand the test of time. Probably worth the risk to find out.
@bjornironsides64743 жыл бұрын
Definitely higher quality/precise built than they were in the 60-70s. Mopars were metal shells with engines and a seat back then lol Albeit much easier to repair if something broke.

It gets me how they describe almost any Challenger as a "good daily driver." Of course, if you don't mind paying for premium fuel, terrible gas mileage, higher insurance, and only feeling comfortable on dry pavement, then I guess ANY Challenger could be a "daily driver." Me? I just ordered a Challenger GT with AWD. Yeah, it only has a V6. But it takes regular fuel (and as I write this gas prices are spiking upwards) and I can drive mine with more confidence in the rainy season in Florida, in which we are just entering. With the money I saved not getting one of the many V8 models, I was able to get almost every option to make the car more safe and fun to drive. So, to each his own. Just don't count out the GT model unless you are willing to pay in more ways than you might think for one of the many V8 Challenger models.
@aaronbritt20253 жыл бұрын
This is almost the Challenger you need to buy. Needs a stick shift. Yes, the auto is a couple tenths quicker in the 1/4. Don't care. Stick is waaaaay more fun to drive.

yeah I can imagine driving a stick everyday after beating your brains and / or body out at work all day and then having to face rush hour stop and go traffic. Or if you are not feeling great because you crashed on your dirt bike over the weekend and tweaked your left knee. No thanks. If you have something else to drive as a daily driver by all means buy a stick if not sorta risky to spend 70 grand on something you might not really want to or can drive everyday...

I haven't heard that but come on dude the handwriting is on the wall. Do U really think car companies can just keep on designing, engineering, and building these mega powered cars with all the climate change emissions laws going into effect every year??? R U that naive??? By 2030 most internal combustion engines will probably be 4 cylinder to comply with gas milage and emissions laws and pretty sure I read by 2035 Ford and GM will be total electric. The Hemi will be gone by 2025 if not sooner. Better get the gettin' while the gettin' is good... Plus oil companies will start winding down the gasoline production as that time comes. I would bet gas will be SUPER expensive by then to discourage use. Common sense...
