Great vid, thanks. Is a true 35x12.5 a little bigger than a 315 and if it is, do you feel it would work as well as this tire as far as working stock on the Big Bend?
@chrishaugh165511 ай бұрын
Yes, a 35x12.5 is larger in the following areas: Diameter = 0.67in Width = 0.12in Circumference = 2.09in Sidewall = 0.33in
@duniecool2 жыл бұрын
Makes sense that everything fits, how about performance hits after moving up tire size? I would expect a pretty significant hit to torque, especially if that big bend is at stock 3.7 gearing (unless you opted for the 4.27 with rear locker, which is still a lot lower than the stock sasquatch gearing of 4.7)
@billchessell82132 жыл бұрын

Love Love LOVE this video, getting my OBX in a month. But I’m worried, isn’t the M190 axle on the 2.3L too weak to handle big 35’s like that?
@Davido502 жыл бұрын
No not at all! That 2.3L Ecoboost has 300hp! Hope you run at least midgrade fuel or even premium. Put a CAI in there. Always run full synthetic engine oil esp in 2.3L Ecoboost it works bit harder but excellent powertrain. Love it in my '20 Ranger XLT FX4. Check w/Ford directly bout that Dana axle in Bronco! This is just my tastes of course, but the 37's look like overkill...unless maybe there was a suspension lift. 35's look good.

I haven't gotten my Bronco yet, but have reserved a Badlands 4-door and enjoy dreaming about all the changes I can make to it when I finally get it. As I understand it, the Badlands trim already has some lift over the stock suspension and comes with 33s; I wonder how much, if any modification would be needed to put the bigger tires in there. Have you played at all with a Badlands?
@ExtremeTerrainBronco3 жыл бұрын
Hey Fretless- first of all, congrats on the incoming Badlands, I'm jealous! In regards to your question- Yes, the Badlands comes standard with the HOSS suspension (bilstiens) which is the same setup used on the Sasquatch Broncos and therefore has that minor lift over the base rigs. You should be able to get a 35 under there without issue but you'll probably have to yank the crash bars first. Hope this helps man! -Justin
@fretless053 жыл бұрын
@@ExtremeTerrainBronco That'd be cool if it turns out to be that easy! I know I've seen aftermarket crash bars that come with some lift kits that are thinner front to back to allow for bigger tires without rubbing. I might look into that, too.

@@GCharlesE Yes and no. I didn't get mine because Ford threatened to cancel the order unless I changed it to take off the things I most wanted. Will the 315/70R/17 tires fit on the factory rims, or are aftermarket rims necessary?

You can absolutely use factory wheels with that tire- as long as they are 17's. -Justin
@demosthenes152 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. I guess my concern is if the factory offset will allow that tire size? And I believe most 315s need 8.5 width rims, no? I think the stock Black Diamond 17 inch rims are only 7.5 wide.

@ExtremeTerrainBronco3 жыл бұрын
Well Gabriel, ultimately we are not forcing anyone to remove anything- we're just showing how it is done because frankly a lot of Bronco owners have asked. And you have to keep in mind, Ford deemed it safe enough to remove the crash bars at the factory on Sasquatch equipped Broncos, so that is a pretty good indicator that it is not 'unsafe'. -Justin

35 inch means 285?
@ExtremeTerrainBronco2 жыл бұрын
285 refers to the width of the tire itself, meaning that its 285mm wide. The second number in a tire size is the aspect ratio. So if you looked at a 285/70 tire, the height of the sidewall is 70% of 285mm. I'd recommend checking out the following site to see what each tire size you're looking at equals in inches! tiresize.com/calculator/ -Zach
