I'm starting a new job in higher tax bracket soon and I'm just now dedicating myself to a more responsible money allocation system. As opposed to the nonexistent one I had before. This is overwhelming but exciting at the same time. I love how adaptable this system is to frequent tweaking as I know it will take me some time to get things exactly right. I'm hoping such a manual entry practice will encourage me to keep a close eye on just where my money is going. While ultimately, budgetting accordingly! Thank you!

I used this last year and although I know how to use google sheets, I am VERY thankful I didn't have to design a layout and insert the formulas :) one thing that I added is an expense tracker on the side since I use credit cards responsibly and therefore exclusively. (I tried writing it down in the notes section but it was too out of sight out of mind for my brain.) I write down all of my purchases every week (date, place, amount) that way I can see at a glance (over my 4 credit cards) EXACTLY where my money is going and what % of my income is not going toward fixed expenses and savings. Thank you for all you do for us and have a Happy New Year!

I love that you were able to customize the template by adding your expense tracker! I wanted the template to be a starting point for everyone but also customizable. Glad you found it helpful!

Thanks for this video! My first goal for 2022 is create a budget that I actively maintain. Question- where would you put health care stuff like chiropractor or Accupuncture? Things you don’t necessarily go monthly but as needed?

Hi thank you for your help. I was wondering if you had an explanation on how to budget bi-weekly. I am living paycheck to paycheck (I have a LOT of credit card debt), and before each paycheck, I am overdrafted. Should I put all of my due dates for the credit cards at the end of the month, and save up each paycheck for the payments, or distribute each paycheck and each bill to biweekly. I’m confused on how to manage by bi-weekly payments. Ty.

@DebtFreeMillennials

You could either create a separate spreadsheet for every two weeks or you could duplicate the forecasted/actual columns for each paycheck.

This was a great information resource; however, medical expenses such as co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles must be added to the spreadsheet. If you have some form of commercial insurance, include Medicare, you will need to add medical expenses to your budget.

Where would you budget for such things as unforseen medical expenses? We had to pay over $400 to my kids dentist last month and it killed us.
@DebtFreeMillennials
@DebtFreeMillennials 3 жыл бұрын
If it was an unexpected medical expense, I would pull it from my emergency fund. But if you feel like you have regular medical expenses throughout the year that you have to pay out of pocket, I would start a sinking fund for this type of expense. I use a health savings account with my health insurance plan and it has helped me so much with paying for medical expenses.
