People calling Xpulse worse for highways, you really need to up your budget to go for the KTM adventure series. As far as the Honda is concerned, I'd instead go for the Hero, and the money saved could be invested in a better seat, accessories for touring or performance mods, whatever I fancy.

Honda cb200x is appearing more agile easy to maneuver in city traffic. It is not designed to do off-roading. More of a touring kind. Hero xpulse 200 is an overall allrounder and give the rider more confidence on off roading tracks. Also after sales services, parts, availability of mods will also play a major role to choose between the two advs.

Given the Hornet hasn’t been selling too well, I don’t think the 200X will do great numbers either. Not that the Xpulse is selling like hot cakes either. And that means spares availability might be a bit of an issue. More in terms of quick availability rather then availability availability.

Thanks for you input. We compared the 200X with the Xpulse to give the viewers a perspective and idea about the 200X ADV roots. Just so viewers understand what’s the focus area of the Honda, and how it is different from the Xpulse. As for a comparison with the 200T, I don’t think the 200X is competition to it in terms of product definition. The 200T is a street naked, with road bias tyres - much like the Hornet 2.0. And less like the 200X.

It's a pure off-roader. And then they start to compare it every other bike out there. Honda knew there's no use in building pure off-roader. The hardcore off-road people are lot lot less in our country. Like 1%, less than 1%?. Then the sales margin will also be less. That's why they gave touring model which can handle mild amount off-road or trails (which most of the Indians think as off-road). Even KTM did the same thing with ADVs. I think Honda is missing a huge number of potential buyers, by not allowing the smaller authorized dealers and service centers to sell their CB200X, or their CB350, etc. I live in Ganeshpur, just above Uttarkashi, and when I checked with my local dealer in Uttarkashi, he said only "BigWing" dealers will be allowed to sell and/or service them. This make no sense, as the place you really need a bike like this is up in the Himalayas, where the altitude has a serious impact on performance. What good is a touring bike that you can't take on yatra? RE service centers are all over the Himalayas. Honda needs to wake up!

Like I said - the Xpulse if I intend going offroading. It’s easily the better bet. As for the the 200X, it is mite upright. But is it better for commuting thank say an Apache or a Pulsar? I don’t know… not until I ride it. But one thing is for certain… it’s a little overpriced for what it is.

No dual channel ABS and no bluetooth, not sure what Honda is trying. Adding a half fairing and asking more price for essentially a semi faired Hornet is just fooling people. At least Honda could have raised the ground clearance, but, sadly even that remains the same.

The groudclrarnce (167mm)s too low as compared to xpullse/ other advs..200mm is the minimum ground clearnce we expect from an adv. So i think itz not under adv segment! Itz same like fz and fazer(hornet and cb200) ..
@vikrantsingh6916

To be fair, Honda is positioning it as a road centric bike. And having based it completely on the Hornet with a few styling changes mean it will be a profitable product for Honda. But yes, different suspension setup, more ground clearance by just changing the front wheel to 19, would have gotten it a more positive response.

@@vikrantsingh6916 they are focused on selling activas only that too without giving test rides actually the concept of test rides doesn't exist for honda unless you are influential, famous youtuber, media house etc. Just enter any busy honda dealership in delhi as a common man, ask for test ride and observe how they stare you back. Less said about the service at big wing world for cb350 series many owners are suffering parts shortage and poor workmanship at bww service for cb350. They seriously have to rise above activa.
