When I bought my Palisade I thought having paddle shifters on a large suv was a gimmick. Then winter came along and I realized how important they can be on slippery icy roads. Coming to a stop sign down a slope can be scary in Quebec, but using the paddle shifters to downshift before applying the brakes are a game changer, they help immensely slowing the truck without locking the wheels. It is also helpful when trying to pull away from that still position on ice patches…..just start from the second gear using the paddle shifter.

I bought my Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy white with black the same that is in this video and super happy with my purchase. The technology is so comparable to my 2020 Mercedes-Benz 450 4MATIC that ended up being a lemon after 5 no engine start with 3 tow backs to dealership and their buyback program with 5k miles. The "new" Calligraphy trim level isn't really a "MAJOR change. In fact it's not really a change, at all. In 2020 the top trim level was the "Limited" with optional AWD. The Calligraphy is essentially the AWD Limited version. Re-jiggering the specs of the top trims enables Hyundai to de-emphasize the price increases compared to 2020.
