Just a correction, passenger talk is a live feature not recording. It uses the mic to let your voice come through the rear speakers to boost the volume of your voice

I've never had a heads up display on a vehicle, man do I love it. I don't see why you would really want to turn it off. Love having the speed limit showing, no more looking for speed limit signs. If it had power folding mirrors, a power steering wheel, and the exhaust pipes split to each side, it would be perfect.

Good video, but I'm confused. Other than the new wheels and slight change in front/rear bumper (the LED square), my 2020 Limited has every feature you mention ( quilted door panels that match seats, Alcantara-like headliner, self leveling suspension, brushed chrome cargo sill plates). Also, you can program the star, "favorite" button on the dash to turn on and off the heads up display.

I don’t see a interior change outside of steering wheel from the 2020 limited to the 2022 calligraphy. Looks like a smart money grab to lower limited and make the new model normal and charge more. It’s cool if the suv was still sold for 46k like it was in 2020. I saw one today for 55k. SMH. But I believe it’s worth it for 50k with all the features.

Recently purchased a 2022 Palisade Calligraphy AWD; there are still some areas for product improvement: add power folding exterior side mirrors, add sunglass holder in interior and add illumination for the overhead light buttons above driver and front passenger (the POI buttons are illuminated but the light buttons aren't, that's odd and an omission in form/function) and those rims on calligraphy trim are a bit 'loud', design something more classy the ones on current and previous Limited trim); and last but not least, consider adding hybrid powertrain as is offered on many other Hyundai products.

Great review! Maybe I missed it, but I didn't hear you talk about the blind spot monitor view from the cameras on the sideview mirrors. This is a cool feature and for its safety to have excluded. One disappointment from Hyundai is that at this price point and trim level(the highest trim) you don't get power folding side mirrors and the cool feature of remote drive out of tight parking spots.

5000lbs if the trailer has brakes, if not then it’s 1750lbs. All transmissions across all trims are ready for towing. Warranty is 10yr 100k for powertrain, 5 yr 60k miles new vehicle warranty

You can do either. Black is actually the more common interior on the lots with the midnight cloud.

I don’t understand why Hyundai did what they did with the Calligraphy. The 2020 Limited has the same quilted leather on the doors, same microfiber suede headliner, same perforated leather on the steering wheel, the interiors are identical. The only differences are appearance items, and include wheels that I personally don’t care for. Now they took those items away from the Limited trim and placed them in the Calligraphy. I’m glad we bought our 2020 Limited when we did. BTW, we were able to get our choice of color (rainforest) which isn’t one of the 3 color choices (black, white, and dark blue) that you are limited to in the Calligraphy.

It’s like they chose to “dumb down “ a trim level by taking those items from the Limited trim. Now if you want the nicer interior, you’re stuck going to the Calligraphy. You have to take H trac whether you want it or not, and only have the choice of 3 colors, which aren’t even specific to the Calligraphy. I think it would have been far better for Hyundai to leave the Limited as it was and offer the appearance items from the Calligraphy in a “Calligraphy Edition” package.

The Telluride has power folding mirrors. It doesn't have the frameless mirror or adaptive headlights. It also doesn't have an all digital dash with turn signal blind spot camera. But there is nothing under $50k that has all of these features except maybe a base Genesis GV80 or base 2022 Acura MDX, but they won't have HUD or ventilated second row...

The Palisade Limited has the exact same dimpled leather steering wheel, quilted (diamond stitched) perforated door panels, and micro suede headliner. Those items not unique to the Calligraphy.

The Calligraphy model represents a re-jiggering of the Palisade lineup that enables Hyundai to charge a bit more for a high end version of the vehicle. It's worth noting that unlike the Telluride the Palisade is Hyundai's entry in the international market. (For example, it's sold in much of Asia and Europe while the Telluride is available almost exclusively in North America.) As such, the Palisade competes directly with European luxury brands in those markets while the Telluride's main competition is in the mainstream midsize 3 row category in the US. Creating a new top trim that's still far less expensive than the Palisade's main competition in Asia and Europe is the main mission of the Calligraphy trim level.

Calligraphy trim pricing: two dealers wanted $60k so unless that trim is being clowned vs lowest trim of selected European competitors they aren't winning. Volvo CX90 R-Design can be had for slightly less and no one is going to argue resale value or safety on Volvo vs Hyundai. Just saying that to compare this vs the likes of Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Subaru 3-row SUVs and compare not just on luxury looks but utilitarian features as well as price. None of those are European (all Japanese), and aren't charging a surcharge like Hyundai and Kia are.

You do realize the 2020 Limited had a microfiber suede headliner, as well as the quilted door panels, right? The Calligraphy changes are 99.99% exclusive to the exterior. Most notably a less attractive grill design and space-aged wheels that don't make sense. This is one of those rare occasions when I prefer the aesthetics of a prior year model. Hyundai over-thought "more luxurious" trim line. Marketing smoke & mirrors.
