Have a 2022 SF SEL FWD w/convenience pkg in Shimmering Silver. Undeniably the best $31K semi luxury car you can get. I’m a retired professional detailer and see a lot of poorly put together vehicles. Yes this ride is bone crushing quiet. My dads 350 Benz isn’t even close to this in cabin noise and seat comfort. For the people who say no comparison, noise is noise people. Most cars purchased have the buy this feature but omit the useful ones. Fit and finish kills the 2018 CRV and 2018 Subaru Outback Premium which family members own. Did my research, thought ALOT about car needs, fit and finish and price. Put a sexy set of Tuxmats in this car, have PPF (Paint Protection Film) added and stash the 20K money you saved from the over priced GMC Terrain Denali, Fords Explorer, Subaru Ascent in the under rear cargo mat storage bins. Excellent use of space and usability.

Say SantaFeIdaho, I'm looking into a used 22 SEL with just the convenience, haven't taken the drive yet to look at it, doing a lot of research on it. I know the rear turn signals are low on the Santa Fe, but are they LED's? I like the fact the engine, although just so-so, is both direct -and- port injected to keep those valves clean. The one I'm looking at has 2 yrs left of full warranty, and because it is Hyundai Certified, the powertrain will have warranty for me for another 5 yrs after that. I'm hoping I can get all the bugs fixed for free under the 2 yrs warranty left. I know you posted 2 years ago, any issues since then? Tks

We got the 22 XRT Trim of the Sante Fe, which is basically the SEL Convenience package with some off-road looking bits and black out (a real head turner in red). You are 100% right , what a smooth, comfortable, and luxurious-ish ride for this price-point! Yes i wish I had more grunt but Ill take the NA 4cylinder and regular trans over the turbo DCT version. Keep up the great work my man!
@MeynMotorGroup2 жыл бұрын
Nice! Massive congrats my friend
@tomtalker2000 Жыл бұрын
Great choice. Hyundai will regret mating a DCT to that turbo engine. DCT's are constantly hunting for the right gear especially in stop and go traffic. Kia learned the hard way a few years ago putting a DCT in their Sportage model. It was nothing but trouble. The 190hp naturally aspirated engine on your SEL should prove you FAR more reliable. Enjoy your new ride.
@richesofthepoor Жыл бұрын
@@tomtalker2000 Thanks! Honestly not regretting it even 10k mikes later. Just got back from a trip from SoCal to Sedona to the Grand Canyon and back. Performed like a champ and avged 27 mpg! Sure it's a bit loud and thrashy ,but trans and engine worked pretty harnoniouosly and allowed me to keep up with a much faster vehicle.

@ofcbob6391 Hello! I've had zero issues with the vehicle with the exception of brake/rotor wear. Seems to be going thru pads pretty quickly but it may have been a direct result of putting on bigger tires (fallken wildpeaks-) along with the fact that I do put a lot of stop and go miles on it. My suggestion tho is to test drive the heck out of the car and make sure that Trans doesn't slip on you. The engine itself is naturally pretty coarse sounding, so hard to tell by its sound if it's healthy. I would just make sure you got the maintenance records. I don't know if it's me but the engine seems stronger now then it did when first purchased. :) Good luck!

Like the interior and looks of this car was considering getting this instead of a Subaru Outback. Was wondering if I got this with the Hyundai AWD system if it would hold up anything like a Subaru. Has Hyundai proven themselves as someone that can make a durable SUV capable of going off road from time to time and not falling apart. Would be interested in your thoughts like this car more than an Outback in most respects.

I don't care for the DCT transmission. The turbo lag is another issue for me. I currently own a 2015 Lincoln MKC 2.0 AWD mated too a 6 speed auto and i don't have these issues. No turbo lag nothing but seamless performance. That all said, i like this SUV a lot and it's got a VERY competent AWD system with the Htrac. However, i am thinking back too when Kia put a DCT auto in there Sportage and it was nothing but trouble. And i see that happening with this Santa Fe model down the line. So i'd MUCH rather go with the 2.5 standard 8 speed auto with 190hp. Getting the SEL with Premium and Convenience packages will get you 90% of what the Limited and Calligraphy trims have. And in terms of HP the 190 isn't that bad at all and you won't have too deal with both the mechanical issues of the DCT and turbo lag. Otherwise, a VERY VERY nice SUV that easily gives Subaru Outback a run for it's money in terms of "off road" capability.

Great review. The vehicle looks great. The rear turn signals being separate on the bottom is weird. The front headlights are odd, but passable. No shifter is kind of a disappointment, but passable as well. The infotainment lag... ugh..frustrating to watch. Overall, the thing seems to be an excellent value.

Nice video! I'm actually going to look at one this weekend. The 2.5T AWD calligraphy trim. I like how it was made for quietness, ride quality, and low NVH. Lexus and Lincoln/Cadillac doesn't stand a chance I was thinking Lincoln corsair or Genesis GV70/ GV80. But this thing looks like a much better buy for around $40k for actual Napa leather, a great Harmon kardon sound system, and all physical buttons with no piano gloss plastic! Plus you get more room than the GV70 and Corsair. Can't forget painted exterior trim! Doesn't look like a damn rental car like the new NX!

@@MeynMotorGroup Yes it’s pretty nice and I will probably end up just keeping it, but during the process of finding it I ended up test driving a 2021 Chevy Blazer... It doesn’t look like you’ve reviewed one of those yet but you should, it’s one of the nicest vehicles I’ve ever driven and I can’t get it out of my head.
