Much thanks. We just got a tuscon with this same set up. The ONLY thing I would change here is hold off on putting panels on til the car is started and pressure is up. Yeah. its a PITA but many years back I screwed up and didnt check my filter gasket. when I put the new filter on with the old gasket over it, I saw the oil blowing out like Spindle Top lol. I goofed up one time in nearly 40 years doing oil changes. I'd say that was pretty good lol. Just goes to show, complacency breeds contempt and It'll bite you one the butt :)

Internal filters dont need a new cap everytime. From Hyundai it comes with a new gasket, crush ring and filter. Every thing that needs to be changed. I hope that answers your question.

I just purchased a 2021 Hyundai Sonata Sel Plus 1.6 turbo engine that takes sae 0 w 20 oil and ny salesman recommended changing the engine oil every 7,500 miles and the owners manual says change every 8,000 miles or one year. Does this sound correct to you??

I'm in whats considered an extreme climate so its recommended every 3750. I personally would do it more often than 7500. But yes the owners manual does say 8000. Whatever miles you go with check oil levels in between oil changes and rotate the tires every 7500 to 8000.

I use amsoil signature series and change it once a year. I don’t ever drive more than 25k a year on it anyway. Before anyone cries that’s too long I send all my samples to Blackstone and there’s plenty of life in the oil and low to zero water/fuel in the oil. 66 bucks for a once a year oil change. Anything else and your just wasting money

​@@whatever210do you know that low tension piston rings are in modern day cars? That's why everyone thinks an oil change can be once a year is ok. Trust me it's not 5000 miles is the rule of thumb for me, regardless of the brand. But Hyundai dealership won't honor every 5000 miles. I was told 3 years free maintenance, oil changes, tire rotation, and filters, etc. They want the first at 7500 miles, I'm not cool with that. I'm about to just do it myself and say screw the 3 year free maintenance. If you can't do what the customer wants then I have no use for the free stuff. I mean I bought the car from you brand new, you should honor my wishes.

Have a 21 Sonata Hybrid same thing comes with just a filter 28k on it just get lower gas mileage in the cold keep a towel in the door the door panels gets ashy find a good interior cleaner 😀

Absolutely for one reason the hybrids are made in South Korea, they tend to be of higher quality. I have a 2021 sonata limited hybrid awesome car and flawless, only had oil changes done. Average 43mpg over 48k miles. Quiet smooth never had an issue with anything.

Don’t be an airhead like me and think the drain plug gasket is stuck on the reservoir guys, check your drain plug 😅, I felt so dumb looking back at the drain plug after prying the reservoir hole a bit

Hyundai now requires 10w-30w fully synthetic, according to Hyundai service manager at my dealership.

@@MannyRosales-fi4ff my service manager said ignore that, the new service requirement is 10-30 fully synthetic. It’s better engine protection than thin oils.

But the service manager said HYUNDAI sez to use 10w30, and thats the only oil the dealer will use. So if i want thinner oil 0-16w i would have to do it myself.@@hunterfoster1714
