I owned a 2017 XF with the supercharged V6 for two years, because I actually wanted one, and I really enjoyed it. Never had a single problem with it. Comfortable, and would just chew through the miles on road trips. It was AWD, but you could definitely feel the rear biased nature of the drive train, which was great. Front wheels only engaged when needed, which you could see in real-time in the infotainment. And the supercharger whine especially on cold days, ohhh, music. Sure it didn't have the latest and greatest infotainment but who cares; you're streaming music via Bluetooth from your phone anyway. It felt like unit on the road - planted, solid and controllable. With a huge trunk, and fitting four adults with ease, it was great. The exterior design is understated, but there's real beauty to something that isn't over-styled and trying too hard...and I loved it.

Weird review. 300hp from a 2 litre engine isn't too shabby at all, neither is 0-60 in 5.8 seconds which is similar to the 3.0 V6 so I don't really understand the problem. I guess if buyers in the US had bought the earlier models in larger numbers, they would get the new car with larger engines, but with fuel prices on the increase, many people are downsizing and aside from that, exactly how much power do you need? I guess it's not really a car for the US and in the UK and most of Europe we don't have vast stretches of open road to play with and fuel is ridiculously expensive, so 2 litre or less is the norm here. By the way, the ZF box works brilliantly in the F-type, don't quite understand why you had a problem with it. Not as good as a 5 (series?) or an E Class? I'm guessing from what you were saying you're comparing the models with bigger engines, so not really a comparison at all. Not sure why you're criticising the trim color either, you don't like it you choose a different one. Options are the same on most cars, you add them or you don't. Most manufacturers are the same, keeps the base price down. You really nailed the fact that you don't have a clue what you're talking about at around the 12 minute mark. It's not "kinda dated" at all and never has been, most commentators even agree that the original model still looks relevant today. Yours has to be the one and only in-depth review anywhere that didn't like it. But you have to recognise that as they're going all electric with a complete new range in a couple of years - more about that later - they're not going to throw a lot of money on completely redesigning what will likely be an outgoing model now. You didn't quit though, even after admitting you've never even driven one, you decide that the interior was terrible, the build quality was awful, start banging on about the use of plastics and the poor tactile feel, despite the fact that there was probably more leather in there than any other car in its class, along with a good helping of real wood and aluminium (to give it it's correct spelling). The infotainment system, as they are known now, wasn't really a fully fledged infotainment system in 2008 and while it wasn't the quickest back in the day, it does the job, and few cars had them at all in 2008. Then you start complaining about the steering wheel controls then didn't really say what the problem was other than they have haptic feedback. Paddles on the steering wheel? My impression is that most people prefer them to turn with the wheel rather than have them fixed, as almost every car review of a car with fixed paddles, well they complain about them being fixed. I wish reviewers would just review the cars instead of having a personal opinion on everything and slating everything they personally don't like or agree with. The weirdest part was the ending. You note that Jaguar are going all electric, but then complain about the direction in which they are going - without actually having any clue about the direction in which they are going, unless you know something the rest of us don't. Who would buy this over a 5 series or an E Class? I'm guessing you're comparing it with larger engine models again. Compared to the equivalent size engine I would, because in my opinion it's a better car. But then I own an XF so I know how good they really are.

I think the brand Jaguar has enough stigma behind it that I would personally never buy, nor recommend one to a friend
@gssf.gr292 жыл бұрын
The problem is it's exactly comments like that which are creating that stigma. How could you recommend anything anyway if you haven't owned one?

Having owned Jaguar, Mercedes, BMW and Audi I can honestly say the German stuff is over hyped in particular Audi !

They stopped making the XFR in 2014

16:50 The only reason you buy this over the germans or anyone is that you want to stand out and be different from your peers OR, you just love the brand. OR, your a fool and you did not look around just buying the first thing you found on the lot which happened to be THIS.

The XJ was nicer, especially the older model, but Jag has never seemed to be able to get their reliability up to par. In terms of luxury, they're near the top.

10:30 LOL because they want the extra money cause most buyers opt for it jacking up the price allowing them to advertise that low low base MSRP.

All of Jag's stuff is old. Reminds me of the 90's. The bones are old. That said they are transferring over to BEV on the entire line. I wrote this early in your vid so you may mention that if so ignore me. Im to lazy to delete.

All jag buyers bought for the engine, now u take tht away and put sth smaller than what avaiable in a mazda3T/k5gt for a (usually) high price and complain people dont buy and take it as an excuse to build electric n suvs. And Watt I thought XE was most popular by far compared to xf, very sad its gone.
@Link_11293 жыл бұрын
The fact that there isn't some sort of electrification or even the Ingenium I6 available really hurts this car. That's a shame. It's also a shame that they've put a bullet in the head of the all-electric XJ that was in development. Like, Jaguar...what are you doing?

How much around Europe do you travel? What people don't get is the likes of BMW, Mercedes etc. have far more models on the road so there's obviously a lot more of them. Their loss anyway, I'd take the Jag every time.

I have a 2011 Jaguar XJ SC and a 2012 Jaguar XKR and I would not buy this at all. Why? No JagUar should be impossible to get with either an inline 6 or a V8. Those engines are what make a Jag a Jag. With a 4-pot in there, its just a boring 530i or E350 and who gets emotional about either of those??

Very nice upgrade inside and out.But there's ONE major flaw.This new 2021 generation is lacking in real horsepower.In my honest opinion,a car on this level should carry at least 300hp.Until then,I'll go for the competition 🤔
