I can relate and pretty much relate to your viewpoint. Never driven a Jeep before I picked up my Willys Sport a couple months ago but I think Jeep did a great job. Willy's trim looks great and a lot of fun to drive, customize, take the roof off, etc. Plus you can get it with a manual, almost the only truck left with that available.

Yea they really did do a good job! If i had more time with it i’d love to take the roof and doors off in the summer! Thanks for watching!

You keep saying "car." ;-) 1. Regarding the roof-removal, when you were taking the passenger side top off you may have noted it was "attached" on the left edge: IIRC, you have to take them on/off in a certain order, as the driver's side top comes off first, then the passenger side, as the driver's side top panel edge's gasket overlaps the passenger side panel's edge in the center. When you put them back on, the passenger panel goes on first, the driver's panel last. Otherwise, it'll leak on the center where they join because the gaskets aren't mating correctly. 2. I didn't get the sprayed-in bed-liner, as (1) I got my Gladiator off the lot (vs. ordering one) and it didn't come with that Mopar option ($495?) and (2) I knew I was going to install a tri-fold hard tonneau/bed-cover on the bed anyway which would protect the bed paint from the sun/weather. But I DID put in a floor-liner (a 90lb 3/4" thick "horse stall mat" I cut to fit -- about $45 at your local TSC or other farm & ranch store). 3. Some people can't imagine why anyone would put their key-fob in that key-fob "storage slot" you showed, and I agree MOST times you'd have it in your pocket. However, when I go to the dealership for service, I DO put the key-fob in that slot, so EVERYONE -- the Service Adviser and technicians AND me -- knows where it is (and doesn't get lost so easily)! 4. As for my Gladiator, there's no "swaying" that I notice much on the road, and steering is tight (Jeep improved the "traditional/sloppy" Jeep steering when they started production (mid-August of 2020) of the 2021 models. It's almost a good as my previous vehicle's was (2016 Honda pilot). 5. Mine has cloths seats, too, and I agree that they're very comfortable, even on long road-trips (took a trip from CO to TX and back recently). 6. Didn't get the "Active Safety Group" option, so I don;' have that backup/radar warning beeping as yours does. But that's fine -- didn't want Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, etc. I've no need for a Driving Nanny. ;-) I'm keeping my Gladiator mostly stock (no lift, larger tires, Tazer tuning, etc.), as it's already more capable off-road then I'm likely to need. But if I DO need "extra" capability, it's THERE! -- BR (2021 Jeep Gladiator JT Rubicon)

Bill! You got me there with saying “car” i guess that’s my car review version of “you guys” anyway point taken. 1. good point on the roof, that mainly happened because i was shooting from the passenger side but the main point was to show off the latches. I may do a video deconstructing a jeep in the future. 2.honestly i just like the look the bedliner gives the gladiator but that’s not an outrageous add on item if you care about that stuff. 3. I used all the key holders in any car i drive now because sometimes I don’t like keeping the key in my pocket especially for longer drives. I definitely use them for the dealership visits. 4. We may have to agree to disagree on this one i have been driving this gladiator for the past couple of days and i still feel it. Its not horrible but it is noticeable since this isn’t something i drive everyday. Also the is some play in the steering wheel that really comes out when cornering at hire speeds but thats to be expected since this was built for that specific use case. But yes to you point the swaying in much older models was sloppy and annoying. Thanks for watching the video and thanks for the feedback!

@@WizLovesCars I'm guessing it's natural for you to say "car" (although you DO say truck sometimes!) because you MOSTLY reviews cars and of course, you get used to saying "car." 🙂 Also, you're looking at a Gladiator Willy's model here, whereas I have a Gladiator Rubicon -- probably has different suspension than a Willys and likely a Rubicon is a bit heavier as well, so that may make it ride smoother on the highway, given that the longer wheelbase is the same on all Gladiators (which isn't good for the trail but IS good on the hwy). As for a Rubicon's tires (33" Falken Wildpeak A/T3W), they seem smooth, too...and I don't even notice any road noise, so it can't be that much of an issue. And no wind noise, either...but then I have the hard-top (3- piece Freedom Panels). Just to repeat, if someone reading here has a 2018-2021 Jeep Wrangler OR a 2020 Gladiator, look up/print-out the "Jeep TSB 08-074-20" and take it in to a dealer if the steering "wanders." As mentioned though, the 2021 model Wranglers/Gladiators (and the coming 2022 models as well) should be fine. BTW, I got my Gladiator off a dealer's lot (long story!) and had to take it "as-equipped," so I wasn't against getting the Mopar spray-in bed-liner ($495 option)...it just didn't HAVE one. But again, I knew I was getting a decent bed-cover (and one way better than the Mopar folding soft bed-cover!) so that was no big deal. Cheers, -- BR

@@WizLovesCars "Also lol @ driving nanny" Yes...I'm guessing it'd be highly annoying and prevent me from driving on my own w/o any "AI" interference But seriously, after all those years in NASCAR, I'm pretty sure I can still drive by myself. ;-) -- Richard Petty
@WizLovesCars3 жыл бұрын
Yea very natural for me so say car lol it just rolls out. Ah you have the rubicon. Honestly i think it might be because i just don’t drive them so its more noticeable, i’ll have to investigate that one further. The road noise in this gladiator is pretty loud at high speeds. When we were driving up the coast over the weekend it got pretty loud.
