I just bought one of these 80th Anniversary beauties in Slate Blue in Jan. 2022! Got a great deal - almost $4,000 off MSRP, and for my trade-in received only $5,000 less than what I paid for it new 5 years ago (2017 Toyota Highlander). I honestly felt very let down by the Highlander and like that “Toyota quality” has been slipping in recent years. True, I never had any electrical/mechanical/powertrain issues, but it had the worst wind and road noise of any passenger vehicle I’ve ever been in (literally sounded like all four windows were down and the moonroof was open ALL THE TIME), and had very poor quality trim/fit/finish. A piece of trim around the moonroof fell off multiple times, the chrome trim around the exterior windows did not line up from one door to the next, the black leather seats began fading within months (and the replacement leather began fading within weeks of its install), etc. As soon as I sat in my new Grand Cherokee, I was in love. The test drive sealed the deal. Everything about it feels so solid and luxurious. The seats are super comfortable, the leather feels very high quality, the steering and handling are great, and there’s more pep to that 3.6 L V6 than I expected (putting it in sport mode really makes it feel pretty impressive). I’m typically not a fan of darker rims, but I love those 20” granite crystal wheels. It’s a beautiful vehicle. And I can attest to real world capabilities of the 4x4 - after having the vehicle for one week, I had to drive across essentially 30 miles of frozen tundra in mountainous terrain to get to and from work (ICU RN), and my new Jeep was a beast. Also, I’m not sure that I will ever be able to buy a vehicle without a heated steering wheel ever again. 😂 The interior of the new gen Grand Cherokee looks incredible (minus all that piano/gloss black on the center stack), but I have no interest in purchasing the first year or two of a new generation of any vehicle. You’re just asking for a lot of hassle dealing with a lot of bugs. I might think about one of those in a few years, but I’m perfectly happy with this “old” style (which has aged beautifully and is still modern looking IMO).

I came across this video while researching my 2021 80th anniversary edition. I've had it for about a month and I'm totally in love with it. I compared a few other SUV's before settling on this one. So far so good...

This is more of a sales pitch than a review. I get that you love it but for a review you need to be objective. There are things people don't like such as the engine turn-off when at a standstill, leg room particularly in the back, towing capability compared to v* versions and diesel, resale drops quickly, very blingy inside at night with all the lighting (which can be dimmed and main screen turned off but still lots of lighting). One good thing you missed is when you turn the dimmer all the way up it turns on all the cabin lights. Good for finding stuff or if you have a little one in the back having a tanty. Great vehicle, would just like the review to be less fanboy. Well filmed and edited too.

For me personally I live in ny where the winters are brutal so heated steering wheel is definitely a must

Yes NY gets some very cold winters, perfect vehicle for NY honestly! Thanks for the love from NY !!!

when you get into your 50s like myself, the heated steering wheel is a god sent when your fingers and hands are cold.

Hey there I’m debating on buying this vehicle at my local dealership. I’m not too familiar with the jeeps but it’s a 80th anniversary limited and every single video I’ve seen here has the dual panel sunroof but the one I seen in person does not. Did they vary in design? Or why is it that they are both 2021 limited grand Cherokee 80th edition but the sunroof is smaller and the gear shift is also different

Sorry but this review is not helpful, I need the reviewer to be objective and critical, not fanboy. No offense, but I need to know pros AND cons.
