is the front assist working good? Because I hear thath some people have problems with them
@DesmondMilez Жыл бұрын
I don’t have any problems with the front assist. It gives warning right on time, sometimes even 20-30 meters in front of me if a car brakes, the assist beeps and I have plenty of time to react.

Predictive cruise control is just terrible. I have it on my new Superb and it simply does not work. You are so much better having the original adaptive cruise control. The real frustration is that you cannot switch it off - it is all or nothing unfortunately.

What's wrong with it?

@@micheldegroot2063 Hi Michel. It does not work. Also it cannot be set to a reduced level - ie you have to have predictive adaptive cruise control on or nothing at all. There is no middle ground. Regarding the issue of how it does not work, it simply is not advanced enough for the facility it claims to offer. For example, you can be driving along on the motorway and it suddenly decides that you really want to be driving at 20 mph-the brakes go on for no apparent reason and you have to intervene to stop it. Sometimes it recognises a roundabout coming up and slows you down, but another time it doesn’t recognise it at all. Other times you’re approaching a bend and it speeds up - another time still it slows right down to a ludicrously low level. In short, it is not fit for purpose. I should say that in my ‘real’ life I work as an airline pilot flying quite complex jet aircraft. If this equivalent facility was provided for use in an aircraft, it would fail certification. That means it would not be permitted to be used as it’s not safe enough and consistent enough to be used operationally. That is the case with the predictive element of the cruise control on the Skoda. It just is not good enough or consistent enough to be used safely on the road.
