This course is so brutal. Was weird seeing Eagle go on tilt. Also watching Paul basically throw in the towel after tossing two shots in a row OB was hard to watch. Just goes to show how great of a sportsman Calvin is to get that triple and keep his composure to finish #1

The fact that Calvin missed two circle 1 puts on the front 9, bogied a hole on the front 9, and then got a triple bogey on the back nine and still shot 3 strokes better than anyone else is ludicrous. He is absolutely dialed in with that eagle. He can throw that disc how and where ever he wants right now.

As soon as I saw this course, I thought that this is a course for Calvin and I know I am not the only who thought it. It would have been nice to his lay on the triple bogey hole when he threw 20 ft from the bush. Based on that camera angle I don't understand his throw decision. Why not go for scoober-like overhand from the left side so that disc ends up on top and slides a bit. Of course he knows it better and I am sure there was a gap because he threw it there or just lay it up on the left. Looked like an unforced error and trying to gain maybe 50 ft with a high risk. His putting is often slightly off, but he still played better than anyone. He shows that the course is not unbeatable and you can go well under par. And no luck needed when you hit the gaps. I think there are 2-3 holes that could use couple of trees less to open the fairway just a little. Otherwise I think this is a great course. Horrible for spectators though.

problem with Calvin atm is putting together 2-3 good rounds back-to-back. He seems to have 1 great round every tournament, but needs 1 more to get big win.

He makes half a million a year and won't produce any media content for non-paying viewers. I fully understand that some content is for paying viewers only and I think that is the right way to do it. Of course you need to reward them, because free content should never exactly the same as paid content.

Honestly, the best and toughest disc golf is in the woods… open far ways are great for distance! The true disc golf, is in the woods where no ball golfers would never swing. Loving the whole product here - great camera work and fantastic commentary with interesting facts about the deeper aspects of the sport. I think Brian and Nate are rapidly developing into the most professionally sound commentary duo the disc golf media has to offer right now, while not shying away from transporting their love for the game into their analyses. Also, the form checks plus explanations from Brian and Nate are filled with really valuable information for players of every skill level I guess. A really cool feature from Gatekeeper Media. I'd just like to have no mentioning of the players who birdied certain holes during the chase card coverage. I'm trying to watch the chase card before the lead card for every round and knowing which players birdied takes a bit out of the excitement in my opinion. Maybe that's just me. Anyway, keep up the great work. To get this level of production for free is simply amazing and I really appreciate the effort everybody involved is putting into this. Thanks!

Possible. Could have been a few things that made Calvin do that gesture. With the sun setting, he might have been wondering why Eagle was taking so long. Possibly why they made poor shots on 14 a couple holes later. Just rushing to get done before dark.

The only thing wrong with this tournament is that people are literally finishing in the dark. The course is playing so rough that Northwoods takes 5+ hours to finish. I have to think that some of the rushed and poor shots were due to just trying to get done in time. People want harder courses but then don't plan for rounds that take longer than usual.

@@JTNugget At worlds they had so many people they had group A and group B. I don't know if they just had group B start on hole 10 or something but that might be a solution if it helps with tee times.

I didn't see the live coverage, but does someone know why the round lasted close to 6 hours? Course wasn't so difficult so my guess is that too many players and too short intervals in the start and it results a lot of queuing and long time spent on the tee waiting for your turn to throw. I heard that this one difficult par 5 hole has blocked the course in the past and groups have had to wait on the tee for over an hour for their turn. That is not really acceptable. More spotters might be one option so that it doesn't take time to find discs. I can imagine that a lot of 30 second violations take place on that hole due to difficult lies. If 50 players extra 5 minutes on that hole that piles up a lot of time.

It may be the greatest and toughest and most fun and most enjoyable to watch course in the history of disc golf but any hole that most players 6 and one or two get a 4 on is a par 6. There are a couple par 6's on the course. I could made a hole with 10 400' zig-zags and call it a par 5 and it would be the toughest hole in the world or I could call it a 21 and it might be the easiest hole in the world.

they really need to address pace of play, waiting almost an hr on one hole and taking 5 1/2? I played courses in MN where they were absolute hikes and think the longest ever was maybe around 4 hrs. What is the reason, its not like you dont have spotters? The one thing they could easily do is when putts are missed and are within 3 or so feet they need to go putt out. Its ridiculous, I have seen some players on opposite sides of where they should be standing. I would be going crazy. Also, Best course ever, needs to remove some of the OB and a few trees. Not fair to be in the middle and still being punished.
