Lexus is too comfortable without innovation now a days... these external changes are just masking the much needed interior and engine update. @@cybertron1000s Lexus has never made an unreliable engine. The 2nd gen ISF is the most reliable highpowered compact in it’s class and it had a 425hp V8. Owners are getting 200k and 300k miles out of their ISFs without any issues. Lexus could if they wanted to. They just don’t want to.
@Eternalmotors4 жыл бұрын
@@cybertron1000s I'm sure Lexus can figure out a way to get more horsepower while still being reliable. They already did it in the old IS-F and current LS/LC/RCF, etc. Hoping the IS500 they just patented will close this gap. Acura TLX Type-S coming out in the upcoming spring too.
@kirk28464 жыл бұрын
For people complaining, the V6 is time tested and proven tech, providing confidence and reliabilty. The power output is just fine, my 13 GS350 AWD is plenty fast, and im coming from an 08 ISF and currently a FBO track built G37S. The only concern i would have is if the 8 speed is as docile as people have claimed. If it were to be identical to the ISF 8 speed shifting it would be just fine. I get this doesnt have the power of its competitors but this is just enough to feel a good surge of power when you need to step on it. Its an automatic anyway who cares. Otherwise go buy something with more power and less reliabilty. I have full peace of mind with the offering once the transmission is confirmed to perform as needed. Price tag wise, I dont buy new cars and I think any new car is overpriced. This is perfect for me when I buy it preowned. I know it has a tried and true powertrain/drivetrain, and the interior is absolutely beautiful, I dont know what everyone is comparing it to, most new cars have horrid interior design. Lexus has symmetry, quality materials and a timeless design through and through.

Lexus did an amazing enhancement to the latest IS series. It's aggravating to read comments that express grave disappointment to the style on the outside and inside of the new updated IS. The style changes and engineering performance is 'spot on'. Subtle changes are a reflection of a manufacturer's education and experience in the auto industry. If the design and performance are reliable and efficient for the general public for years, then why re-write it? Believe me...I'll take Lexus' approach to this new design any day, then to take in consideration of a person commenting on how bad it is and what it's lacking. They're most likely eating Doritos and playing PS4 in their parent's basement anyways.

There are no measurable improvements to the car compared to last year. A strut here, a wheel there - that is nothing. Plan and simple. Lexus is not going to invest money in major changes to any sedans if people aren't buying them. I have a 2016 IS 350 fsport and although I appreciate other manufacturers upscaled info-tech and turbos, I'll always trust the Lexus will perform the same way every time, every day, without fear of mechanical failure. I'm considering this again. It feels "right". This was made more clear after I test drove an AMG A35 today and couldn't get over the cheap plastic squeaks on the console, the rattling spoiler over bumps, and nervousness of pushing it too much. Good job Lexus. It's a looker of a car, and enough power for "most people's daily driving.
