In a nutshell it's an utilitarian meaning get the job done for its purpose. If you want something classy expensive stay with the Germans, range rover. Yes Lexus is toyota and they don't give a crap about how modern their interior looks but rather focus on their engine reliability. What do you want exactly on modern car? Remove all the buttons and rely on touchscreen. How long would it last?

I’m sure that this thing is well engineered, capable and reliable, but must it feel so cheap? The weight of the doors, dash, hood, tailgate etc all have that typical lightweight cheap Japanese car feel. The competition has moved on in leaps and bounds.
