In a nutshell it's an utilitarian meaning get the job done for its purpose. If you want something classy expensive stay with the Germans, range rover. Yes Lexus is toyota and they don't give a crap about how modern their interior looks but rather focus on their engine reliability. What do you want exactly on modern car? Remove all the buttons and rely on touchscreen. How long would it last?

I’m sure that this thing is well engineered, capable and reliable, but must it feel so cheap? The weight of the doors, dash, hood, tailgate etc all have that typical lightweight cheap Japanese car feel. The competition has moved on in leaps and bounds. @@windingroadmagazine i doubt it! Look at the leather sofa on the back. Take that leather and compare it with some mercedes W140 leather in its new state. The latter is like 10 times thicker and 100 times more durable than the one on this LX570.

@@CJEndowed001 You are talking about a car that hasnt been made since 1998, a time where mercedes quality wasnt abismol for what they make you pay for them, to a 2021, all be it out of date model, Which uses a synthetic leather, designed so that even the most uncaring type of people wont ruin the seats. Todays mercedes and the mercedes of the 80s and 90s are very, sadly different, I can really only fault lexus on its ever increasing use of plastic within both the interior and engine bay, But every other brand is as well, especially the german brands, PLASTIC COOLANT LINES, what an engineering hack
