That engine belongs in a low, sleek Maserati sports car with a proper gated 5-speed transmission. The most gorgeous car I’ve ever seen was the 1971 Maserati Ghibli my father owned, it was really fast and sounded incredible.

Interesting. What you said resonated a lot with my Giulia QV. It might not be the best at everything, a M3 is probably better in many aspects, but it has character, and knowing that the engine comes from Ferrari adds a lot to my experience. I'd love to watch you review a Giulia QV one of these days. Keep up the good work!

The only thing that bugs me is the super low profile tires with the raised ride height that makes it look a tad ridiculous. 40 or 45 series tires look proper on a large SUV even if they aren't ideal for extreme cornering.

Biggest difference between the Ferrari F154 engines and the Maserati F154 engines is the crank. The Ferrari version uses a flat-plane crank, which gives it their signature screaming pitch at the top end, whereas the Maserati uses a more NVH friendly cross-plane crank that is common in all non-supercar V8 engines.

I refuse to say anything bad about Maserati, I’ve been in a Levante and fell in love. With that said… I don’t understand why the Alfa Romeo Stelvio has an interior which is completely difference from any other FCA vehicle while the Levante, a more expensive FCA vehicle, shares parts with lower end FCA SUVs It’s confusing

Ferrari’s bombshell announcement they would be phasing out manufacture and supply of engines to Maserati and others within the coming year or so seems like it will definitely make these higher tier V8 models worth getting as supply dries up and ordering is shuttered. We already see the next generation of Maserati vehicles utilizing the Nettuno V6 as the go-to engine choice for high performance ICE - an engine already proving itself in the MC20 - but I can’t help but wonder what will be lost when the last of these 3.8’s are gone. We already lost the 4.7 a couple years back and the 4.2 before it! On the bright side, with Maserati alone being the brain behind Nettuno, hopefully we’ll see a wonderful resurgence of Maserati-6 performance and sound, like the days of yore, before they’re forced to give up ICE once and for all
