I have a small Electronic Security business and have a small fleet of 7 Vans, I personally drive a Transit Connect, I have 2 Merc Vitos, Transit Custom and 3 VW Caddys, 140 mile range just wouldn’t cut it for my business, I am desperate to get my guys in EV Vans but I want 200+ range, by the time you have put half a ton of tools and kit in it, strapped ladders and steps to the roof your 140 mile range in an empty van is going to be 80-90 at best. Yesterday I drove from Mold to Bala to Ellesmere, Shropshire then home to Chester, I might have been able to top up at a charger at lunch time but currently they are a bit rare in our neck of the woods. I don’t want my guys sat round waiting for their vans to charge up, that’s just going to cost me money and offset any savings we get. James, you need to tell these manufacturers EV vans aren’t just delivery vans....

Hey mr T thought of a great thing for your business loan one of the maxis lwb model do actually a honest review you carry on with your day but do your homework with some apps so say your day started off at 9 am you drive to place of job less 60 miles ask customers if you can pop on charge just while you get job done you give them say a £1 then say your away in 3 hours then say you may have a extra 10 miles next job 15 miles away similar sinario then in way back to work shop you ask your employees to have a quick rapid while having a sarni they are there for 20 to 30 mins on there break they get back to yard with only 20 miles left leave on charge over night ready next day . Not totally ideal but it’s a start .. there is a merc lwb with 100kwh battery think that does 217 miles range there are many options vans from 24 kWh to 100kwh All pockets but still expensive but I do say but if I had a business I would opt for a van and just massage it at least 1 into the fleet how ever will you know .. good luck if you decide to lean one tbth the best time to own a van was 1 year ago till this October free rapid charging all around Leeds / Yorkshire district and free parking good luck 👍 ps you will be surprised what’s free from local councils etc etc

@@otleyshev68 thanks matey, I am on my second personal electric vehicle so kinda know the pros and cons of ev ownership, I have taken everything you say on board and have already adopted those principles, my example yesterday I wouldn’t have been able to charge as I was parked on the High street, and if I had been able to plug into a socket the two hours I had been there it wouldn’t have been worth it, as the service guys deal with emergency calls we never know where we might be the following day so planning isn’t an option, trust me I have done my research and 150 miles won’t cut it. I have my eye on the Vito ev and the Peugeot Partner ev as they seem to be the best options for range as it stands. We will wait and see for now.

Ironic that SAIC appear to be making a success of two British Leyland brands ( MG and Maxus ). Also that Maxus was by far the most badly made vans in the U.K. little wonder the Chinese are taking over!

I just wonder what the range, speed and acceleration will be like with a full load? Probably good for delivering bulky but light parcels locally but my van has always got a few hundredweight of tools, equipment and spares in it. The range is the problem with a lot of commercial vehicles, OK if you are a local plumber, builder etc but not a lot of good for service engineering where I quite often do four hundred miles on a return trip some days. When the infrastructure is in place for fast charging or battery swapping and companies put charging stations in their car parks, e commercial vehicles will make more sense.

Not a fan of the 1990’s grade dash and interior for materials, style and finish. I expect something much better overall for the 2020’s. The 1980’s Dodge B van and Ford Econoline had nicer looking and more colorful interiors. The cargo compartment has nicer style and finish than the cab. It appears to have good driving performance, but 100hp for the motor seems a little bit low for me, but the torque is adequate. Does it come in any color but white? At the end of the day, it’s a van I would take a look at. But I am not sure if I would yet buy it. It would have to be really affordable for me to accept the drivers cabin layout and function as is. That part of the van is really off putting for me.

I have been driving these since October last year and it is rubbish for real. The central lock does not work all the time and i have to lock and unlock the car with the key and sometimes the alarm goes off when opening the door after unlocking it with the key and it is still not fixed. Tire pressure sensor system does not work and is disabled from day 3 as its not required on vans. Backing camera is replaced once and the dash lighting have died rendering the speedometer useless when its dark. The heating system have just 2 settings that is on and half effect and below -10 degrees C the car will never get warm inside. And when its cold turtle mode can appear allready at 20% SOC. Have personally met it at 18% an 10% SOC making the car is unable to drive faster then 50km/h. It does not either have heater ore charging timer. Compared to the E-NV200 Evalia i have the only thing i miss on the E-NV200 is heated mirrors and the extra space in the back. The AC noise you hear is exactly the same as in the one i use and when it comes to motor and power it is not really more potent then the E-NV200 as Maxus use a more aggressive throttle response where there is not really much more power to get when flooring the throttle then you get at 2/3 throttle where the E-NV200 only releases all its pony's when you floor it. Eco mode slacks down throttle response barely and limits the speed to 93km/h. My experience with these Maxus have gone from exiting to get to never wonting to get a Chinese car ore other more expensive items from China again.

As always love your videos buddy .. I think what would be a great idear I am 100% shure that is you did a range test from say set off from cleavely garage like for like Nissan env200 v the maxis edeliver 3 Both empty say 100% charge bring your tape mesuments. Do a 30 mins review temp settings on both inside say 20c/21c And even talk to wicks / b&q manager collect ply board copper pipe you go to from cleaverley ev garage to a diy store then even do a job on a customer s car then take the parts back for wood 🪵 then back to garage good advertising & the results of your findings ??!!! Think the maxis is way lighter buy some margin than the e-nv200 van That might be to do with it been aluminium v the e-nv200 been totally steel Think if you do another call it in-depth review ? Plus race / get two customers at a address together get another Macanic to do similar job the idears are endless but I know your super busy guys but I recon this would be great views .... also please please remember your mic 🎤 socks 🧦 please ... 🤓😳👍👌⚡️

Not being funny or anything... But the Chinese seem to make som eof the best stuff you can get. Just look at smartphones for example. Gaming phones. Or xiаomi mi 11 ultra. Or oneplus. Oppo. Vivo. Iqoo. ZTE. Red Magic. Nubia... There are so many... And are insanely better than any iPhone. Seriously. I am very impressed with that van. China really are going from stride to stride. Sorry. But that's the truth these days. Things have changed. Even my Red Magic phone is Chinese. One of the best gaming phones you can get. Never thought I would say it... Thanks for your review. Chinese built car is very concerning about 'quality' so for every little items of quality check. no. of degree of aircon, battery kWH, even miles, leather seat.. they all give you just passing the quality check. However, in terms of overall design, human comfortability, balancing or integration among different features.. They are still very young. Low price strategy probably work in their country, but definitely not others. Buy a car is more than buying a powerdrill, you live with this car for long, so safety features, noise isolation as well as after sales services.. all these count.

China gave itself a problem with quality in the past by not instigating quality control and letting companies roll out rubbish products with no comeback, they have realised the benefits of having quality control and improved the game, otherwise companies like Apple and Audi or Mercedes would not allow them to make their products, just look at how many countries BYD sell in or licence their products in. I remember a company that made London taxis that because they had a sole selling ground turned out rubbish taxi cabs and went down the pan when other manufacturers started to make their London Taxi cab, bought by a Chinese firm and diversifies and is making a come back.
