Thank you very much, this method worked also with model 3 highland. I have to open the cover and add some foam between cables and cover to fix annoying rattle, this was very easy method.

This worked perfectly and took me 3 minutes. Prying the trim piece was scary and made a loud noise but nothing was damaged. Thank you!

Wow Richard you are a life saver. I have been dealing with this for a long time and just didn’t know how to fix it until I googled it and happened to stumble on your video. Many thanks.

Let me add my thanks for this quick solution. I have put up with a loose mirror for 3 years. I has "assumed" that I understood the issue, but I was wrong. I viewed about ten solutions before I found yours. It is surpising how much torque you have to apply to that Torx screw to stop the shaking of the mirror. Five minutes after finding your video, the problem was fixed. Thanks again.

I just tried this. I started to tightening it up and the screw snapped off. So now nothing secures my rear view mirror. 🤦🏻♂️

I hope that you're able to remove the screw and replace it with a new one.
