2021 Overview SRGH on Trinity Xbox 360 using Matrix or CoolRunner

No longer is S-RGH aka "RGH with CR4 Speedup" only available on Ace V3's, now we can do it on any XC2C64A based chip such as the Matrix V1-V3 or the CoolRunner Rev C and Rev D

I've RGH'd a few Xboxes in my life and had a really good experience with Trinity Muffin installs but for some reason my current X360 didn't want to boot XELL. I managed to get it running using this method! Thanks for this video!

S-RGH on Coronas is released, but the S-RGH for Trinity is still in development. If you can get hands on with an Ace V3 then I'd go that route, otherwise try the Corona "muffin" method.

great video! just finished a viper dual nand with cr rev.c in a trinity using this. Only timing that worked is the one suggested in the readme, But I am getting pretty consist boots around 8-10secs

Nice - no issues with this timing file for the dual nand? The chip disables properly when you're on stock?

@@TheWeekendModder Ya, it will cycle once then boot up instantly into the stock dash. I get about 3-4 cycles for the hacked image. So I can confirm it does work.

So we need the Matrix V1 WITH oscillator from your store? The current description says to disable the oscillator or get the one without it if you are on a Trinity. The board in your video appears to be intact and not disabled but I am not 100% sure.

I wrote the TRINITY_CR4.ecc file incuded in the J-Runner-with-Extra ,but all error messages appeared and failed to boot. Is that the correct file i shall use to replace "create ECC" ? Or should i create the ECC file like the regular way with CR4 checked?

If you've never soldered before, get your hands on some old PCB and practice removing some parts and re-installing them. Once you've got some general comfort with soldering, go for it - do the mod!

Wait, isn't this a new implementation of 15432's project muffin? I read through the release notes on github, and it seems that the "S-RGH" part of it is speeding up the XC2C64a's clock to 192MHz, which is (if I remember correctly) what 15432 did with project muffin. If any one is interested, there should be some info on it over on the se7ensins forums.

Muffin specifically uses the DB2G3 point that comes off the southbridge for it's reset signal, this instead relies on the standard SDA/SCL. 15432 is credited in the github, so I'm sure the work is somewhat derivative, but I wouldn't call it "Muffin".

@@TheWeekendModder Yes, that is correct. I was mostly referring to the 192MHz clock, which seems to be the highlight of the matrix S-RGH project.

@@reaperreaper9593 Hi bro The clock of the STBY_CLK (Standby clock for run SMC, or the matrix quartz if using) is 48MHz, using double edge processing (on rising and falling edge) we can process at 96MHz. But we also can double the clock in xilinx with a simple circuit! This gives us 192MHz for glitch processing. The muffin and 192mhz are totally seperate. 192MHz is just higher precision for RGH2. Muffin aimed to re-implement the CR4 style RGH2+ hack. It works by the SMC sends the I2C commands to the HANA when DB2G3 (SMC_GPIO0) is high (> 1v) to issue the slowdown rather than the chip sending it, then slowdown when it goes low (about 0v) Saves space on the CPLD by alot as the I2C code is complicated! If you have any more questions let me know.

@@reaperreaper9593 Yep. The speed-up refers to the SMC acceleration which isn't really used by this. See the SMC+ video my channel, for info, its a improved version of 15432's speedup. It works because S-RGH timings delay slowdown to just before glitch, so the bootloader runs at full speed for longer. Thus we can reduce the timout! This mod does not work with it so its technically just RGH2, as there was not enough space on the CPLD for the extra divider and delayer.
