Just interested from my European perspective what would be the maximum gross train weight you could run that at? Over here of course most tractors are 2 axle with gtw of 40000kg (88000lbs) on international work but some countries allow 44000kg (97000lbs) internally, all with triaxle trailers of course. 35000kg (77000lbs) with a close couple tandem or 38000kg (83500lbs) with a wide spread tandem. Good looking truck with a well packaged chassis layout.

I know you like the twin stack look but if the factory isn’t going to hook up the left stack why even have it? In doing a lot of backing into tight docks it’s really nice being able to just look out the window without having a stack in the way . I do really like the all in one aero mirrors especially when driving on wet salty roads; you don’t get the backsplash from the old style separate mount convex mirrors. I’ve driven a couple 379’s and 389’s with both types and I’ll take the combos if offered a choice. Been trailer truckin over 45 years

I'm not sure I get it; for pulling small trailers around, that engine seems overkill. Also don't understand why somebody would need a PTO to do that

Fake stacks suck. If I bought this, which I'd like to do, I'd have the dealer remove it, and discount this cost of the pipe. What's wrong with a single stack? It's a day cab work truck. It still would look good.

Impressive specs for a single drive ! Beefed up like a European tractor, with a higher rear ratio ! These single drive tractors, can they outperform tandems going uphill because of less rolling resistance ?

Why would any one buy a single axle tractor I hate em why restrict yourself
@Retired88M4 жыл бұрын
george wilson ; I wish here in the states we would go to 3 axle trailers like in Europe. I’ve driven many single axle tractors in all kinds of weather snow included when we used to get heavy snows here on the East coast and as long as you kept good deep rubber you always had good traction and it was never a problem backing into a tight dock
@georgewilson11844 жыл бұрын
@@Retired88M I’m just saying I suppose there is a market single Screw power but I will stick with twin screw power all it’s about is customers thinking they can save on fuel I don’t like customers putting in their two cents on specing equipment
@Retired88M4 жыл бұрын
george wilson , I could see twin and triple screws for heavy haulers and construction vehicles but with all of today’s air operated axle interlocking devices including those for single drive axle trucks it’s my opinion that on highway trucks exclusively only need a single drive axle. But opinions are like a-holes; everyone has one
@Retired88M4 жыл бұрын
george wilson , don’t forget it’s the customer that’s always right no matter how wrong he is. It’s the customer s money and you sell the customer what he wants or he or she will go where he can get what he wants with his mom

Mike Motteberg ; Democrat s aren’t the only ones that like breathing clean air. Blame it on big oil; they’re the ones that won’t let the engine engineers with their computers build an engine that burns diesel cleaner than natural gas

@@Retired88M Can you tell me why Caterpillar Stoped Producing engines for highway trucks ?
@Retired88M4 жыл бұрын
Mike, cat couldn’t meet the epa’s standards for air quality for highway vehicles at the time but ad of today they are meeting the requirements for off road vehicles and machinery which are less stringent than the on road specifications. But big oil doesn’t want to lose money from fuel efficient diesels burning less fuel
