VERY WELL DONE AND IN DEPTH. HAVE YOU DONE A VIDEO DISCUSSING THE MACAN GADGETS AND SETTINGS IN THE PREMIUM PLUS PACKAGE? YOUR IN DEPTH APPROACH IS HELPFUL. JUST BOUGHT ONE AND IT DOES FEEL LIKE A JET COCKPIT THOUGH I AM NOT A PILOT. SEEMS LIKE THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM IN THE REAR UNLESS THE FRONT SEATS ARE WAY BACK. IT HANDLES BEAUTIFULLY AND THE REGULAR ENGINE HAS PLENTY OF PICK UP. THE FIT AND FINISH ARE SUPERB.

Both the Macan S and Audi SQ5 are both gorgeous cars; however Macan doens't have Android car play, wireless charging and the back seat is uncomfortable compared to the extra space you get in the SQ5 (back seats are adjustable) and the Audi costs about 10 to15K less. So if you have driven both what is truly better in the Macan S then the Audi SQ5? Would love for you to do a comparison or explain what is better?

I think Porsche is due to redesign the Macan within the next couple of years. It is suspected that they will move away from the “fighter jet” center analog console and dashboard with so many buttons. It will very likely get the same digital center console and dashboard from the Cayenne. I think the analog “fighter jet” is kinda cool in a retro way but there’s also something to be said about simplicity in decluttering the cockpit. It’s actually pretty crazy in the Macan. Also, unless you get a fully loaded Macan, the slots for the analog buttons on the center command console are then covered with blank plastic covers. So, they turn into a sad and constant reminder to the owner of the options you couldn’t afford. The digital boards don’t suffer from this.

I would just like to say- at 6'3 the backseat is incredibly uncomfortable unless the person in front of you is willing to move their seat up a considerable amount.

I love Porsche, but the Macan is very expensive for what you get and the field of competitors is very crowded. A similar BMW/Audi will easily be $15K less with the same performance figures. The Macan does have solid resale value though.

BMW’s are nice but the constant dribble of problems is a pain. I’ve owned many of them over a long period of time and the story is always the same. Same goes for Audi and VW, always little problems. Porsche’s seem much more solid and reliable, plus they just plain drive great!

Many Macan owners have also reported mechanical complaints - lots of issues especially with its first generation. When that happens, it becomes the most expensive to repair out of warranty from all the brands you mentioned. Any mechanic or indy shop will tell you the same thing. In spite of that, the Macan enjoys good resale value, most likely because of its batch alone. I recently had a chance to test drive a ‘20 Macan S. My expectations were so high given all the positive online reviews. Unfortunately, I was greatly disappointed - laggy throttle in response in all drive modes, EXCEPT in Sport Plus (would no longer consider buying one without the Sport Chrono option). The suspension felt floaty to the extent I felt dizzy the first few minutes in the car. The car did handle very precisely around curves, but the steering was awfully soft with Power Steering Plus. It was supposed to get tighter at higher speeds but I never felt that. It honestly reminded so much of an Audi Q3/Q5. I then test drove a ‘21 X3 M40i the next day and it was so refreshing in every way. I liked more the beautiful and curvy body styling on the Macan S, but found it way too hard to justify its purchase given how its driving dynamics felt compared to the X3 M40i. My partner felt exactly the same way when we compared notes afterwards. Then you add the more advanced technological features and spaciousness of the X3, the answer becomes obvious. The only way to justify the Macan is if you simply want to be seen driving a “Porsche”.

Porsche doesn't stand behind the quality of their vehicles. Transfer case on my 2015 Macan S has failed twice now in only 27,000 miles. This is a known issue which caused Porsche to extend their warranty to 7 ys. Their "improved" transfer case lasted only 2 years 2 months and 9,000 miles. I am out of warranty by 6 weeks and Porsche turns their back on problem and sticks me for $3,200 repair. Don't buy a Porsche w/o extended warranty for entire length of time you expect to own it. #1 rated warranty company - Endurance - won't even sell coverage on Macan. That should tell Porsche and all potential buyers something. Customer experience is far from an expected premium car brand experience.

I just think it makes no sense for Porsche to charge this much with such an outdated cabin. There’s no reason the dashboard should not be all digital. There’s no reason it should look so identical to a 2017-2020! Buying a 2021 is truly just for the name. Look at a Benz or Mercedes in this class. Worlds apart.
