In first question option 4 is also saying mulching is " very important " in permaculture but we have seen permaculture without mulching too

Mam but in Q7 They have asked "efficiency"of water and not "quantity". Efficiency and Magnitude are different things. Efficiency has to do with effective utilization Sugarcane requires less quantity of water BUT if we talk about efficiency, on Internet research papers say that Sunflower or Pearl Millet is least water efficient. (Depends on research papers, diffrent have different opinions based on survey and locations they were undertaken) So either its B or C. However majority research papers say it Sunflower, but let's see which UPSC thinks appropriate.

Ma'am in temperate zone the explanation you gave is perfectly right...but the thing is option says that westerlies make eastern sections of oceans warmer than Western sections!! It is talking about the section of ocean whereas you r considering that it makes NW Europe and UK warmer which r part of continent..if we talk about ocean only, we see cold currents in eastern section in all oceans and hemispheres in temperate zone..so according to me u r considering continent but question is asking about ocean...also we don't see this warming phenomenon in all oceans in both hemispheres..just by example of gulf stream I don't think it should be generalized..also question says it makes it warmer than the western section...I don't think it will make it warmer than Western section..avg. temp. of UK is 10-15 degrees celsius...must less than that of eastern coast of america..the only thing I m saying is that your line of thought can be proved wrong in so many ways..plz reply if I lack some conceptual clarity or why shud my line of thought be wrong...coz I thought this only and marked 2nd option incorrect...

It is due to moderating effect of these ocean currents on eastern margins , which leads to warming of these particular regions of the continents :) ….

@@SleepyClassesIAS ya I agree with you on that completely... but the option talks about warming of section of ocean...and ma'am you r considering warming of continent...what we study is the cold ocean water in temperate latitudes in eastern section of oceans...but what u r saying is warming of Western section of continent ...these r two different things..one ocean other continent...and question talks about ocean!!

@@mohitpancholicivilservant2833 I don't know about this bro coz I from UP...but the thing is I don't believe how all coaching Wallas r giving C as the answer...I mean it just looks like they r just trying to prove the option correct without taking the statement on face value and applying logic...no wonder every coaching gets so many answers wrong every year
