Because of your videos, I just bought my first Ram ever; 2021 Ram 3500 HO dually Laramie Sport. I'm very excited. I needed to upgrade my 2013 3500hd Duramax SRW for more payload and more stability for my toy hauler. Your videos/info helped make my decision. I debated going for F-450, but as I have owned a Ford before, and really wanted to try Ram out.

I really enjoy your channel please keep them up. I got my 1st Ram 5 weeks ago. I pick up a 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie Mega cab night edition with air in the back. I am only pulling 10,000 pounds trailer. This is the only vehicle I have so I drive it everywhere and loving it.

Great review and very timely! I’m picking up my 2500 Big Horn Night Edition tomorrow. Thanks for your reviews, they’ve helped a lot. Ours does have a dampened tailgate (equip group 2), and has power convex mirrors (tow tech group is only $1000 Cdn). Supply is terribly low in Canada right now. *I should add the payload is 2803 with the 6.4.

Thanks for all your review videos man! I had a 2020 Ram 2500 Tradesman 6.4 Hemi (Awesome truck in it’s own right) and just traded up to a 2021 Ram 2500 Bighorn 6.7 Cummins. I’ve watched a lot of your videos for comparison research and it helped a lot. Thanks again!

What made you get diesel? Towing?
@r2bboats
@r2bboats 2 жыл бұрын
I honestly bought it just because I wanted it. My bumper pull is only 7k pounds and the 6.4 Hemi was more than enough power. The diesel, however, has the exhaust brake which was my favorite thing about it. They’re both great trucks but there’s just something about a diesel.
@us1fedvet
@us1fedvet 2 жыл бұрын
@@r2bboats can’t argue that. You’ll likely get it back someday in resale. No matter, you’re the one who has to be satisfied and it sure sounds like you are.

I have a 2021 2500 crew cab 4x4 6.4 hemi with the off-road package and 6.4 bed and 3.73 gears and this thing is pretty awesome. It does ride rougher than the 1/2 ton, which is to be expected but not a deal killer for me if you air the tires down to about 62 psi cold pressure and aren't in it on rough roads for a long time. The ride is astonishingly smooth and quiet for a base model 3/4 ton. Mine is a decently optioned tradesman and it is very nice to me with the exception of the hard plastic doors, oh and did I mention mine has roughly 1000 miles and my fuel economy not towing is averaging 16 mpg hand calculated. And that's with a lot of driving in the Missouri mountains and bumper to bumper traffic in Branson. If I would have known how capable and efficient these new 2500 hemis were I would have just bought one in 2019 instead of the 1/2 ton ram I bought and got rid of. Great truck for the money and couldn't imagine what a bighorn or Laramie with air suspension would be like

Drove my 2500 Big Horn 6.4 Night Edition home yesterday - love it! Now that I’ve actually driven it, I just want to point out a couple things - the Equipment Group 2 and B have the larger 7 inch display in the IC that’s in the Laramie (and it’s nice!). From what I can tell, the difference between Equipment group 2 and B is that 2 has the blind spot monitor/cross traffic alert (optional on Group B). Also, hard to tell in your video, but the Night Edition has a black headliner…took me a few minutes to figure out when I started driving it. My son also pointed out as it got darker that our old Laramie had nice blue ambient lighting on the doors at night, and our new 2500 doesn’t have ambient lighting (I believe it’s an option) :-) Thanks again for your videos - I appreciate that you talk about other trim levels, vs most reviewers only look at the fully loaded versions (and your focus on using a truck for towing/payload). :-)

It's funny reading all the comments from big horn guys, yeah you can get the big horn with a lot of options that the Laramie has standard but then the Big Horn would be a lot closer in price. The Laramie also has a lot of safety equipment standard like blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and collision warning. Both good trucks but the Laramie definitely is the nicer truck.

This video is by far the best comparison. Being side by side was very helpful. I have the hardest time understanding the roughly 5-8k extra for the Laramie. I know leather, and nicer Interior but not sure what else. The same with the tradesman vs. Big horn. Many people option the tradesman for far less than the big horn. I'm still going to order the 2500 but missed the cut off date. That's OK dont know what to buy yet 😛😛
@JB_WhoWork

Thank Ernest! I may need to do a comparison with a base Bighorn/Tradesman. A lot of stuff you saw on the Laramie was not available on BH which is why the price was so much more. When you see both trucks stripped down, it becomes pretty apparent why the Laramie carries a higher price tag

@@JB_WhoWork Thank you Its the best review yet. I think you get a lot in a 2500 tradesman with certain options
@matthewanderson9912
@matthewanderson9912 3 жыл бұрын
Good video. Both are nice trucks. I’ll probably ruffle some feathers here but I think Ram is going the Ford route on the mid level trim trucks and kind of forcing you to a higher trim to get some of the options. Ram used to be good about offering the nice options on lower and middle trims and I guess technically they still do because of the available options you mentioned for the Big Horn but that adds a lot of additional cost to the truck. At that price point ($65,000ish) in an LT trim Chevy you would have park sensors, blind spot monitors, smart key, dual zone climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, rear USB ports, and possibly leather and a 110 outlet. Chevy has always been good about giving a lot of nice options on the LT trucks and Ram was too but that Big Horn is missing a lot of stuff and it’s still almost $65,000.
@JB_WhoWork
@JB_WhoWork 3 жыл бұрын
I agree, RAM used to let you have LED Headlights on the 2019 Tradesman but then they changed it in 2020. RAM does let you have cool features on lower trim levels but they make you pay for a bunch of other crap you may not want. Thanks Matthew 👍🏾

Big Horn does have a higher parade, and Tradesman has the Highest, because the more you put on them the less payload you get. Rambo had a 5,760lb payload capacity, which is huge (even in the dually world). It's all how you option them. I had the comfort of the Laramie package, and the huge payload. I remember the dealer saying g to me he had never seen someone so anal about those numbers. I am huge on knowing what I want, then going after it.
