2021 Range Rover Sport SVR Review : If thunder was a car, it would be this!

A no nonsense review of this amazing V8 SUV. There’s no figures and statistics here, just an honest review of what the SVR is actually like to drive and use on a daily basis. Watch till the end for the full user experience.
For me, this tops the chart In the Performance SUV category for 3 main reasons;
1) Feel good factor is off the scale when driving or even just sitting in the car.
2) Overall road presence is unparalleled.
3) The most fun I’ve ever had in an SUV…. Or any car for that matter.

I’ve had mine for just short of two years, 18k miles and not had a single issue with it. Gets driven as you’d expect and it’s been absolutely solid. Compare to my diesel Vogue I had prior, nothing but issues with that. Residual values excellent too so apart from the fuel of course, it’s not cost me much to own when I get out of it.

I have a 2021 model SVR and its everything you say it is but a whole lot more. You don't mention fuel economy but you really should. For a 575hp car of this size in all my years of performance car motoring it is far an away the most economical on fuel. Just yesterday I drove around 600 kilometres on New Zealand roads and it returned 9.8L/100km (28.8 mpg) and that was cruising between 100-120kmh I wasn't trying to use less fuel but was conscious of it. I think its easily the most fuel efficient vehicle I have ever owned. Then there's the off road performance. I also own a hugely modified Jeep TJ, there's virtually nothing stock left on it. If it had the same wheels I think the Rover would outperform the Jeep in most circumstances and still look pretty afterwards. Yes, I got out of a Bentley Continental speed to get into this and have never regretted it.

Here in the UK, mechanics tell me that this car is a mechanical nightmare for reliability. Just to be sure, It's every mechanic I've spoken to. But, The image concious buy it by the container load. Good for them. It keeps garages busy.

I like your honesty. If you buy one you I guess need to be a real fan of RR's. :) Enough to be willing to take a gamble. Even iwth an iron clade warranty. Do you want to go through that? Not sure I would.

A beautiful machine, really nice. But I don’t get revving the engine or putting your foot to the mat to see how fast it goes, that wouldn’t make me buy one. Keep driving like that you’ll be getting plenty of penalty points, so you won’t be able to drive it for to long. Anyway I’d buy the S Class barabus.

Omg had a 19 SVR for bit over months .. complete utter trash . Poor build quality, plus it had 3 problems in that short period of time & it’s no where near as good as my new X5m competition . The lr entertainment touch screen are total garbage too . Unre unresponsible & lagging all the time plus it crashed a few times . Stay away from one of these troublesome vehicles
