It's been a hot minute since the last Remz skates were released (October 2019), but thankfully that all changed last week when they released the new Remedyz HR2.5 White skates! Yep, that's right, all white Remz baby!! An instant classic... but what's new? Well in this video, I talk about a few of the small changes/improvements that have been made; as well as the various customisation I do to my Remz setup to get them just the way I like.
So, if you're interested in a closer look at the new Remz, want to see how I set up my skates, or you just want to hear me ramble about Remz skates for pretty much 20 minutes... then this one's for you. Enjoy!
If you have any more questions about the new boots, be sure to drop a comment!
If you want to see some new clips of me skating the new boots, be sure to follow me on Instagram @robkellett ( / robkellett )
The Remz HR2.5 White skates are available at your favourite skate shops now! Cop a set today and get that freedom of feet feeling!

The skate is super dope! I changed out the liner and swapped it with the My Fit FATBOY liner. The reason why I swapped the liners was the remz liner didn’t have that support on the side of the foot. I felt the plastic molding on the outer part of the boot and it was digging into my feet. Took out the velcro straps and put on the aluminum razors buckles and added waxed laces. Now they feel 10x better!

Thanks yo! Stoked to hear you enjoyed the video :) Yeah down sizing is definitely possible but it does take a fair bit of customisation. Finding the right liner was key to making the downsize work. Skate safe yoooo

@@RobKellett definitely. I won’t be down sizing but knowing there is some fabric that can be trimmed on the boot as well as the liners is good enough. I’ve heard reign V3s work really well with Remz but I’m not finding any available atm. I appreciate the the response, it feels awesome to be so close in this community, unlike any other. 2 weeks baby!

@@Targatheory unfortunately I had to send them back. The Haffy's already took a decent amount of time to break in and these are even tighter then those were, as well as a very bad change to liner design. Rocking old school razors now, feel great

@@Targatheory I made a video showing the liner flaw. The sways were on my list as well. If you need or like a wider skate, the remz are definitely not for you. USD were my skates off choice back in the day until I tried the Haffy's. And honestly, I didn't like them as much at first, but it was what I had, my USD's were actually broken and I just wanted to skate, so I lived with it. Once they molded to my feet and my feet stopped hurting, they were excellent. By far the best looking skate in there market, in my opinion. But definitely not the most comfortable for my wide ass feet.

@RobKellett
@RobKellett 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks yo! Glad you enjoyed it. Remz generally fit pretty nicely without the stock liner; I'm not sure why but the stock liners have felt kinda wrong for the past few years... for example, I'm an 8/8.5US shoe and if I were to skate the stock liners I would need to skate the size 8/9US shell with most likely a size 9US Remz liner 🤷‍♂️ because the remz liners are quite thick around the mid foot and heel/ toe areas, they take up a fair bit of room in the skate... But, with a MyFit Liner mid foot Remz are definitely good for wide feet though.
@samstreet4904
@samstreet4904 3 жыл бұрын
If not downsizing they fit generally well, if you have high arches and a wide foot you may get some pressure points along the outside of your foot but a thinner liner would possibly fix that. Just my experience with remz in the past

Well I'm a US10 and I currently skate the 10-11 shell and there's loads of space even with a crown liner. Looking at trying to downsize into the 8-9 shell next. And the crazy thing is as a kid I skated the 12-13 shell and never did the laces up, God knows how.
@RobKellett
@RobKellett 2 жыл бұрын
My dude! I'm so sorry I totally missed this comment 😦 I think if you're a 9.5 you would be able to fit into the 9 Shell, but would definitely need to switch the liners. I found Myfit Fatboys to work really well as they're super slim around the foot, but still nice and thick around the ankle which helps keep that OG remz comfort. Hope that helps man!

Hey homie, yeah I'm a 8/8.5US in shoe and downsized to a 7US shell with a 7.5US myfit liner... I would say the best/easiest way to see if downsizing is going to be possible, would be to put your foot into the shell of the skate without a liner in there... If your foot fits with a couple Millimetres of space, then you'll be able to make that work with the right liner :) hope that helps!

@RobKellett 3 жыл бұрын
Yo homie, totally understand what you mean. I’ve found that if I set them up this way the skates don’t turn floppy ever… especially with some fresh hockey laces in there once ever couple of months. There’s a big different between flexibility and floppy-ness and I think a lot of people confuse the flexibility of remz as floppy. They don’t flop from side to side like some hardly done up razors, but they do bend when you want/need them too. Having said that, there’s definitely improvements that could be made and I’d love to voice them to remz, as I believe they’re some of the best and most unique skates on the market (just need a little tweaking)… but sadly I haven’t heard anything from the company since 2019, nor have they shown any effort in their social media/online presence since then. I thought maybe when these new white skates came out there would be a change in that side of things, but 6 months later and it’s still nothing.
