You need to check out Collinsville flea market in Alabama if you are in the area. It is about a 75 minute drive from South Pittsburg, TN.

I bought a couple pieces from that husband/wife couple that had the pieces for the reasonable prices. They were super friendly!!

I enjoyed your tour thru the fair! I bought olive wood spoons and my friend got a lovely end table. Thanks for your hard work creating this video. I also filmed on Sept 11, but took a slightly different approach.

Wow, that place is cast iron nirvana. I don't think we have anything like that near where I live in CO. Nice scores and thanks for taking us with you...fun video. BTW, I'm in my 70's and have been using cast iron since my 20's. There is nothing better. Currently I have in use: 2 outdoor DO's; 1 indoor DO; 1 ea.x 14", 12", 10", 8", 6" skillets; 1 x 8" square skillet smooth bottom and 1 x 8" sq. ridged bottom; 1 x tea kettle for the wood stove. Retired and now sitting on the mantle are: 1 x 3 qt cauldren (S&P Phila) c 1850's-60's and 1 x 5" outdoor mini-DO c 1960"s. Thanks again.

Ugh, I gotta make the trip one year! Not sure if I go as a buyer or seller tho lol

Well, you have an idea of what the prices are like, so if you do go there to sell you can compete with them.

Another great video! So jealous!!! We’ve been searching for a larger, 7 plus Qt kettle style Dutch oven but have nothing close to BF near us. Is there such a thing as personal buyers or brokers that don’t push the price past ridiculous in the cast iron world? Along with that are there any online sources that you or anyone would recommend? Blessings!

I highly recommend checking out a Facebook group called Iron Man Cast Iron Auctions. There's a lot of great cast iron being sold on there, the folks on the group are very knwoledgeable, and the moderators of the group do their best to make it much more honest and trustworthy - and affordable - than eBay.

Would the aluminum roaster have originally had a wire bale?
@castironchaos9 ай бұрын
This particular one did not have a bail. It also did not have a place for a bail, so it was never designed with one.
@arleneosborne7995Ай бұрын
At close to the beginning of this video, you pick up a skillet and say possibly French made. What leads you to think that?
@castironchaosАй бұрын
It had the same design as a pan found later on, which was marked as made in France.

Why is that “not” a salesman sample?
@castironchaos3 жыл бұрын
Actual sample pieces given to salesmen were extremely rare; and also, they made thousands of tiny stove sets especially to be sold as toys. Yet, in antique malls all over the country these tiny stoves are always labeled as “salesman sample” when they were actually made as toys.
