This is the most appropriate boat so far that i've seen. It looks real fun, it does not make the owner look rich, and its not a loser boat either, Anything like this, or even a bit smaller is great.

Very nice Galeon imitation boat, they did a great job. The 4 pet peeves I have with this design is the windshield is not fully enclosed and exposed on the top half, the forward windshield door opening towards the outside and sitting on the larger windshield, the cockpit faucet that doesn't retract into the sink and the terrace that does not have the option to put poles and lines around it for safety when deployed (like a Galeon).

why is everything going to outboards? I don't like how they obstruct the swim platform
@Retrocomputernerd3 жыл бұрын
Swim platform is on the side on this boat. But one reason would be you can lift the motors completely out of the water and flush them 100% to reduce corrosion issues. I think engine service and maintenance would be far easier in most cases as well.

Nice walk through, the 400SLX looks like a very nice day/weekend cruiser/party boat. What would a rough MSRP be for one configured like that one is? I'm not in the market at the moment, waiting to claim the winning ticket tomorrow LOL

Cannot stand the motors taking up all your space.

Well, with a mono-hull boat you have a few options. 1. Sails: You're at the mercy of the wind and the mast occupies the center of the cabin. Plus you have ropes running EVERYWHERE! 2. Oars, paddles or some other muscle power. Limited to YOUR energy how fast and far you go. 3. Outboards: They take up the transom area limiting your swim platform, except on boats like this where the side bulwark folds down. 4. Inboards including stern drives: Occupy potential below deck storage or cabin space. Did I miss anything? I know I didn't mention the positives for each
@Beniamin66653 жыл бұрын
@@michiganengineer8621 Very well put together! Does that mean on this 400 model with the inboard has less cabin space or is the take away the paddle board compartment witch is an easy giveaway. The major thing is 3x400Hp motors. 1200 horse power is not possible on inboards on that boat.
@michiganengineer86213 жыл бұрын
@@Beniamin6665 TBH I'm not certain where you're going to lose if you went with the inboard version of the SLX 400. My GUESS is you're going to lose a little room in the aft cabin because of shifting weight forward and making room for the fuel tanks. From the factory you're correct on the power limitations, they only specify a pair of 430hp Mercruisers. Without doing more research than _I_ really want to right now, given my own state of lubrication, I'm going to guess that Mercury probably makes engines with the same bolt in layout but higher horsepower than the 430's that SeaRay specs out. So given the right amount of $$ lubrication, I'm SURE you could probably get close to 1k hp per side with inboards. Now whether or not SeaRay or Mercury would honor any sort of warranty is totally up to the lawyers!

Very poor sales pitch. No specs given. ....like GPH, speed etc.
