A ride review on the 2021 Sherco 300SE factory edition. I really like the feel of the chassis on this bike and the KYB suspension is amazing. I also test the vibration on the new counterbalanced motor compared to a KTM. More to come on the Sherco in upcoming videos!

Here's my 20 hour review.. bike never has felt heavy. Ridden multiple bikes in between mine on rides and you can't feel the difference. Motor is amazing, lugs up anything. I've never stalled it. I like the stock suspension but being 220 lbs it isn't right for me. Wish these manufacturers would look at their average customer base and realize we aren't all 175 lbs with gear.. sending my suspension in on Monday which I'm excited about! Being 6`2" I added 1" bar risers and put the handlebars in position 4 on the triples and feels perfect. Buy the swing arm chain guide tab protector immediately if you do hard Enduro. The wishbone on the Linkage on these shercos are higher up than the ktms we compared them to eliminating imo the need for a new skidplate with the linkage protector.. happy about that. Stock Michelin Enduro tires are fantastic.. actually buying another set. Suggest trying dropping the forks to the top line to get that higher speed stability. Turns on a dime still.. counterbalancer really is great.. rode cr500s for years so im not the one to ask about vibration.. overall quality of the bike is great.. keihin carb is outstanding. Much prefer it over tpi. Stock grips are actually pretty good.. Also always wire the stock grips on any bike... love the quick release seat. Air filter is a little bit of a pain to get in and out but not a big deal.. if you remove the tail light bracket assembly it will open two massive entry holes that flow dirt directly off the rear tire, up under the seat and right on the air filter.. seal those holes up.. Plenty of air gets in from the side panels anyway. I don't mean to hijack this review but I'm hoping I can maybe help out with someone's new bike purchase.. the hype is real on these factory bikes coming out..

Got my 300 SE 3 days ago. Exact sentiments. Fix footpegs by wedging thin hard plastic behind to get camber...works perfect. If altitude is concern, put STIC block in the carb and ride anywhere on one jetting with airscrew adj. Only. Was surprised at vibes but soon as you ride they are gone. Great complement to my 250xc.

I rode one a few months back. I agree that the frame feels totally different than anything else on the market. It took me some time to get used to it. I loved everything about the bike except that I struggled to really grip the frame with my legs. It always felt like I was falling off the back. Definitely couldn't get as comfortable on it as I was the first time I threw a leg over a Beta. Instantly felt at home on the Italian beauties when we rode them together at the demo day together here in Ontario.

That's funny, I have a Beta 430 and had a Beta 300 before I went over to a Sherco 300 SEF (4 stroke). The Sherco is a blast and so nimble, it turns on a dime and switchbacks are so easy. I am having so much fun riding it that I may sel the 430 and get either a Beta 250 or a Sherco 250. I had many 300s in the past and want to try a 250 this time.
@MyLifeIsSetApart

@@TorqueDorque I've always preferred 250's over 300's when it comes to smokers. The Sherco I rode was a 300 2T. So that could very well be why I didn't mesh with it as well. It was a great bike, I just couldn't get comfortable on it easily. I nearly bought a Sherco 250 2T before my first Beta but with the inconsistency of Sherco in Canada and how they're always changing importers I wen't with the Italian brand. I'm really enjoying them and just ordered what will be my third Beta in a row!
@TorqueDorque
@TorqueDorque 3 жыл бұрын
@@MyLifeIsSetApart Yeah I really love my Beta too. Had many brands but not sure I have been on any other bike that lugs like a Beta. I watched in interview of the head of Sherco and they are going all in for N.AM market. This is why they dumped that last distributor. I bet you start seeing more Shercos soon with a legitimate dealer network. I have to tell you that I am no where close to a dealer and it has not been an issue. There are some good dealers I can order from on the internet.

My only gripe about my 2020 250 Factory is the extra 10lb weight compared to my 17 250 xcw.....dump it a few times in a race after about 3 to 4 laps in, you'll feel it. Other than that, love the bike and THE KYB's!!! absolutely the best suspension off the dealer floor. As for vibrations, mine doesn't have the counter balancer but a set of Mako 360's resolved any issues with the vibes. If you're still a '17'+ carbed KTM owner and plan to stay as one, what the Sherco taught me was to sh*tcan the KTM's 38mm carb and go with a 36mm Keihin and the Gnarly pipe....both are standard on the Sherco's.

@@PNWEnduro yeh, adding a CB is pointless, the reward is not worth the effort, just add the Mako 360 bar mount, plus the 360 for the Sherco Neken TC will directly transfer to the XCW triple clamp for 17+. Also, the 360 will transfer to the XC and XCF bikes with the $35 conversion kit. Talk to Lance at XC Gear. I think I need to order one of those shipping scales like Kyle uses. I'd guess the Sherco is about 15lbs heavier than my KTM.

Compared to the KTM the Gas Gas has different clutch (better), brakes, flywheel, mapping and suspension combo. Ride them back to back, they feel different.

KTM owns WP, they will never use competing brands suspension on their bikes. You say KTM is the best but WP sucks in the same sentence. I feel suspension is a huge part in rating how good a bike is.

@@PNWEnduro Agree, how can a bike be the best ever, yet suspension it uses sucks.. All bikes i love, have good suspension.. I rode a WR 450 for s month, at first bikes was terrible, once set up for me, it was awesome !

@@mixalis6168 Yes a lot of riders really like the AER forks, myself included but I could probably ride a blown out '95 RM 250 and like the forks! Keeping the air pressure at recommended pressure for your weight and backing the clickers wayyyyyy off is the ticket for many riders on the AER. I have two first hand recommendations for Kreft but that is more $$$$ than I have right now for suspension.

I have a 20 sherco 300 and you barely notice the vibration plus I feel like the counter balancer takes a little off the low end grunt of an engine. Not a big deal at all
