Very interesting reel. Glad they went to the spin-on handle to fasten it left or right. Has anyone ever tried the Diawa BG? That probably is the best $99 price point reel in the market. Not sure if it applies after this FC came out.

They are fantastic reels, but on the heavier side. So solid and smooth. I have a 2000 and 2500, looking for a couple of larger ones for tiger musky, stripers, big cats and if I ever make to saltwater. Bought online for $85 each in early 2019, those were the days.

Vary nice, I was lucky enough to get a 4K for $75 now they are $120+ 🤦‍♂️ only con is they are quite heavy. Don’t recommend for bass unless you get the smallest sizes

BGs are nice, but the line lay always needs adjusting. If I don't adjust it, I get wind knots.😢 😢😢😢. I've never had a wind knot with the Nasci and excellent line lay out the box.

great video...is the black knob on that rubber or more plastic. I hate the texture of the diawa fuego reel, feels almost slightly sticky

Its not soft or sticky like rubber, buts in not plastic. Im not sure what material it is exactly.

They are really awesome reels for hundred dollars! I really like screw in handles,it’s seems to make the reel feel more solid and easier to crank!

Would you buy the nasci or sahara? Im going on my first longer 1 week fishing trip to northern finland and i dont want to pick the wrong one for all the pike and perch there, also love your channel great tips.

So theres are a couple of main differences, notably that the nasci has coreprotect and a cross carbon drag which offers more water resistance = lasts longer, and a smoother drag. The new nasci and sahara are equal in weight and drag strength, the nasci just has an extra bearing. So technically, theres isnt too much of a difference but I do think the nasci will last longer - which is why i keep grabbing them. The ones i have, have never let me down. In the end, its just a matter if you want to spend that extra money!

The nasci has coreprotect, cross carbon drag, and a water resistant drag, which will help the reel last longer. When fishing the two, the NASCI does feel nicer. I prefer the NASCI, especially for the small price difference.

Hey! Other then the price, the Vanford is definitely a more finesse reel. It has a more lightweight feel, is lighter (by like 2oz), has that MGL spool in which you can really tell the quicker “response” or “pick up” speed. If I’m just comparing it on “feel” though, the NASCI feels like a little beefed up, again I’m going to say it - workhorse of a reel compared to the Vanford! The NASCI is a reel that i have been using for heavier swimbaits, topwater, lake trout jigging etc etc, while the Vanford I have been using for dropshots, ned rigs etc. I hope this helps!
