I do my oil changed every 3k or 6 months. And i have a 2016 xse v6 with 200k and still runs like a clock. The most reliable car i ever owned. And thinking of getting a 2024 xse v6 for my wife before toyota stops selling them and replaces it with the 4banger hybrid.

That’s great practice! 3k oil changes are even better. I’ll never know why ppl insist on 10k mile oil changes. It’s cheap assurance

Well-worth doing this yourself. Mobil 1 synthetic twin-pack (2 5-quart bottles) of oil is $50 on Amazon. Toyota oil filter is $10 on Amazon, but your local dealer may actually be cheaper. That's about $30 for an oil change versus $100+ at your local shop. Pay yourself $70 an hour to do it yourself.

@@robedmund9948 yup I always get my filter from the dealer (around $5). And I get Toyota oil. Runs about $60 total out the door. Toyota oil is Mobile 1 though so you could use that too or anything you’ve had good experience with!

Would you happen to know why I’m experiencing a slow/delayed start after oil change? I did the procedures in same way however the car was on ramps I filled 5Q instead of 4.8 I was going to reverse it back to level but it didn’t start on the 1st try and 2nd attempt was a longer crank, I did drain out some out the next day when I noticed it was overfill. Now it just seems to start slower but runs fine
@The.Car.Guru.Ай бұрын
@@jacobdandre7380 so from what I know the car is actually normally at the perfect level if you put 4.5 qts in. It could very however depending on temperature. As far as the long crank I would check the battery condition to start with

Did you have any issues get the car on the ramp, in terms of the low front end or is it not as low? Thanks
@The.Car.Guru.3 ай бұрын
@@JustinThibodeaux-v3n I did not have any issues. It’s certainly tight but as long as you can get it to the tire it’ll roll right up on it

I got a 2020 Toyota Camry hybrid.... 4.5 doesn't work..I got to put 4.8... measure perfect on the dipstick..

Will doing my own oil changes void my lifetime powertrain warranty?
@The.Car.Guru.5 ай бұрын
It should not. As long as you know what you’re doing and use a factory filter you will be okay.

I have a 2020 Toyota Camry LE I do not have 5,000 miles on it yet I have not changed the oil but I will do it next week
@peachyclean939 ай бұрын
Make sure you change that oil every 3,000 mi on that Toyota longtime Chrysler owner here and purchased a Toyota cuz I was in a pinch I couldn't find every time I did find a Chrysler vehicle they were sold an older one and let me tell you what Toyota's are sludge machines! So make sure you change your oil a lot!

5000 miles you should be fine 3000 is excessive imo its light oil 0w16
@Jerrylumdegaard8 ай бұрын
@@sayvonsmith3682agreed, I’ve owned a few Toyotas - 5k is a good interval.
@patrickhenry28458 ай бұрын
You can get 5,000 miles on non synthetic oil. If it burns a little oil, just top it off until the oil change is done later. Why waste labor and oil cost, if you change your own oil. Oil isn't cheap anymore. Labor is time consuming.
@skjdhdh5 ай бұрын
with full synthetic oil 5k miles is easy...3k miles is waste of money

It all depends on how and how much you drive. 3k is what I do
