Not only is the PH-spec just as well equipped as the Thai models, there are some descisions Toyota PH made that I like over the international models. For example, Thai models get 20" mags but I think 18s are better suited to the Fortuner (20s in the Fortuner ride unbearably bad over rough roads). The new engine is very torquey and refined as well. Speakers are superb (atleast in the LTD variants) and TSS not only for the TOTL models, but also for the mid range 4x2! Honestly, I wish they also put this much though and effort into the PH-spec Hilux. Toyota PH is finally making competitive products that don't solely rely on the Toyota badge.

It is almost like the Toyota that launched the Fortuner this year is a completely different brand to the Toyota that launched the pre-facelift Fort back in 2016. Imagine, back then in 2016 the Fortuner had drum brakes and no rear camera for over 2M pesos. The top of the line 4x2 back then at 1.8M pesos didn't even have stability and traction control, and only 3 airbags. It was a joke compared to its competition. Now, they are beating the competition in terms of features and power for the Q and LTD, and they made the competition look like a joke 😂. Good job Toyota, pls continue this strategy.

For my opinion for 2.4m is a little bit expensive for me and I think much better if they bring down to 2.3 or 2.2m 😁 but atleast you're not paying the badge only unlike their base model 😊 and you get more features than other suv too! And I could say the engine torque it's a beast! 😁👍

@@kevinbarry71 to be honest sir, i never really considered the blind spot warning as a feature to make or break a deal for a car.. but now that i am daily driving a car with a consistently performing(not all brands that checks these kind of systems are as consistent as others) safety feature like blind spot monitoring and emergency brake systems, i can really say that it really helps.. it is not all the time that you are very aware of your surroundings(especially pag maraming motor na sumisingit sa blind spot).. blind spot monitoring is not a must for a defensive driver but it is really good to have additional info and safety net in case of a probable accident..

Before Covid , Toyota Motors Corporation is in the Top 10 of the Most Succesful Company in the world , in the World, not only in the Philippines , People buy Toyota not because of Toyota Badge , as this car reviewer(kuno ) always try to implies , its because most of their Engines in most of their cars , Suv and Pick up truck are so reliable , Not all Toyota Models are excellent , just like other Manufacturers (Honda,Nissan,Mitsubishi, BMW,Mercedes, Audi, Ford, General Motors , Hundai , Kia etc,etc etc . Toyota Corolla is the Best Selling Car of All Time , with more than 49 millions sold all over the world and still counting , So people that buys Toyota Corolla are stupid and just buying the Toyota Badge ? or people in the Philippines are also stupid and buys the Toyota Fortuner because of Toyota Badge ? Or maybe this reviewer likes to pretend he knows more about the engine that Japanese engineer designs, it takes a lot of brain to research , development ,design , manufacture ,test and market a vehicle. One thing for sure , no matter what Garbage they spread in KZbin , Toyota is Toyota.
@jaywalkur3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if you watched the video entirely but I said in the video that respect for the Toyota badge is not unfounded because Toyota consistently produces RELIABLE vehicles, which is the same as what you said, right? However you also have to realize that Toyota doesn't have a monopoly on reliability. Other brands have stepped up. in fact, in terms of reliability, the number 1 spot in the US belongs to Mazda right now, according to Consumer reports. So a brand can't just rely on the badge because competition is always stepping up. And that's why I love the Fortuner LTD so much because it has the Toyota badge which is known for reliability but it doesn't just rely on the badge. It also matches or beats the competition in terms of features.

I agree, but this guy just has a prejudice against Toyota's. Probably because that's what his parents used to purchase. And now he feels, like a rebellious child, that he has to think something different

@@brianroque7346 did he? He's strongly implied that you buy Toyotas because you buy Toyotas. Indicating that the Ford was somehow an equivalent joist the only deciding factor being taste. When in reality the Ford is substantially less reliable. Talk to anyone who's owned one. In this country or any other. Toyota has a very well w deserved reputation for building solid products that are extremely durable and reliable.

@@kevinbarry71 "he strongly implied that you buy Toyota's because you buy Toyotas" then "Toyota has a very well deserved reputation for building solid products that are extremely durable and reliable" So he is right. You buy Toyotas because they are Toyotas: "solid, durable, and reliable". It was clearly mentioned in the review that Toyota's reputation doesn't come from nowhere. It comes down to taste because the Everest is better in some aspects while the Fortuner is better in some other aspects. They both have pros and cons, but both are now at the top of their segment. Is that still not enough?
