We had to stare at the departure angles of gas station lots before we had to load gas. And now I would have to re-do my setup with the OEM hitch, which is backordered to high heaven right now. The RakAttach + 4 bikes + 4 platform 1UP rack total weight = 285 lbs. I clear the tongue weight limit since you mentioned in the video that the tongue weight capacity is 350lbs. By the numbers the Rav4 Prime gas engine alone is rated at 176 hp whereas the Adventure and TRD have 203 hp. However, the Prime has 302 hp total combined, as long as you have some battery reserve energy, which is 100% of the time in practical use. When towing a high cross section and/or heavy trailer any distance, with climbs involved, continuous horsepower and especially cooling become limiting factors for any towing vehicle. Other factors are sway and total combined vehicle weight vs braking power. On the topic of sway, tires can make a difference. Tires with stiffer sidewalls will promote less sway. I was pleasantly surprised and reassured watching kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJ3NqomVasirjZI, a Rav4 Hybrid towing stress test by Alex on Autos. If you're worried at all with a heavy or high cross section load, you can plan your climbing strategy to even out your gas engine output. I would use Charge Mode in any downhill and mild climbing sections to replenish the battery, then in the hard climbs switch to EV Auto mode, which will utilize the full battery charge to assist the gas engine as long as you leave it in that mode. Just remember to put it back in Charge Mode at the top of each hard climb so you don't waste battery charge but replenish as much as possible for the next climb. Then at the pass you could leave it in EV Auto to give the engine a break and let regen braking charge up the battery as you descend the other side. Manually alternating between Charge Mode and EV or EV Auto mode is like having a very large battery on a normal hybrid, i.e. it's a manual 'deep hybrid' mode. Just keep in mind that in EV Auto mode you will typically deplete the battery faster than it charges in Charge Mode. For instance on a 2 mile climb you may deplete the battery 10%. It may then take 4 miles in Charge Mode to get the battery back up to where it started. This math may not work out when climbing a mountain range, so your battery may be down to its hybrid reserve level before you get to the top, however regular hybrid mode should get you the rest of the way no problem. Note that on the Prius Prime, Charge Mode cuts out at 80%, it will not bring the battery up to 100%. I imagine that's the same for the Rav4 Prime. Yes, I would love to see a towing stress test with the Rav4 Prime. 2700 lbs over Loveland Pass in the Rockies or Donner Pass in the Sierras in the heat of summer please!

The eCVT with the planetary gears has fewer moving parts vs the 8 speed and from watching KZbin videos looks like it will outlast the 8 speed which I test drove in the gasoline version of the Rav 4 and was not impressed with the constant and hard shifting of the 8 speed transmission.

The car co,es with one too but this hitch uses the location that anchor is in so it replaces it with a stronger one. So the anchor you see is new, part of the new hitch

Oh, good. I wanted to get a hitch for my little Harbor Freight no-brake, 300 pound empty/1100 pound loaded trailer. I just need lights. If it's a huge hassle to install the wiring kit, I might just have the stealership do it. I don't want Toyota to decide to void my warranty over something dumb like that. I remember Subaru voided a friend's warranty on his stereo because he put in a home burned CD and the CD player failed. It didn't have any labels on it or anything to jam it. They were just looking for an excuse to void the warranty, and they found one.

James Klafehn Have you install the 7pin? The TWR of 2500 is only if with the trailer break system but toyota do not provide this wiring kit. weird.
