I honestly can't stop listening to this, so I figured I have to comment. This is probably one of the truest and most beautiful translations I've heard of this song. A lot of people don't realize just how different it is from Simple And Clean, and I think you captured the spirit of that beautifully.

I've been looking for this my entire life, I guess I've just been searching incorrectly. I originally found your 2013 version, which was a very charming and literal translation of the original Japanese. This feels like more of an interpretation, or localization, which is great but does make me pine for the first cover you did. Of course, I can't ignore the massive strides you made as a musician during the past 8 years or so! Your voice has gotten so much better! I've been lurking since 2013-2015(unsure of the year but I think I was 14 so probably late 2014 - early 2015?), and finally decided to comment. I love your Hikari covers, and I always wanted to be a singer even before I knew it. I don't know when I will, and it won't be this account, but would it be okay if I debut singing Hikari with your lyrics or using your lyrics as a base. If you think about it he couldn't have Kairi so Namine was the next best thing in terms of shipping. Although...I don't know how that works since it was Repliku that had feelings for her. In a sense before he died, he basically asked him to take care of her, even if it meant falling in love in his stead. Orrrrr something like that when there was no implication of that at all and Riku is just a bodyguard for her regardless. And Roxas has Xion. So it's all good I guess.

Before Super Smash Bros Ultimate came out, I was playing Super Mario Smash Bros Wii U. In classic 9, there is this dark fortress. 2 characters are considered light attribute. Pitt and Palutena. When I was hitting the last core in the fortress, I decided to take Utada's Hikari's advice which is shoot the light into the darkness. kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5LWapuvZpVjha8. Since Pitt has an arrow that is considered a light attribute, I decided to finish it off by shooting the arrow enchanted by light. After all, fortress in Wii U is a dark fortress and since Pitt can shoot, I decided to shoot the light into the darkness. By being Pitt, I can reference what Utada Hikari said in her lyrics.
