My family and I own an ID 4 for 7 months now. It is a ProS and it is a rear drive. We live in Minnesota. The Canadian ID 4 has the heating pump while the American ID4 does not have the heating pump. If you plan to buy a rear drive ID4 in the snow belt, you need good snow tires or you will have more fun than you plan for. My wife has this statement to say: The ID4 is far more comfortable than the Tesla and the ID4 has the right kind of speed. My wife needs a comfortable vehicle because she is half to three quarters full of arthritis and most of the vehicles, she has ridden is not comfortable for her.

I didn’t hear you say why we should add the $8k package? Why? What does it do for you?

It has essentially all the features I need in a new car.

I'd say they made the windows 2 buttons because perhaps not everyone needs easily accessible buttons to put the rear windows down. Ever been driving at 50MPH with the rear windows down? No, because the odd sound it causes in the cabin is nauseating.

RWD ID4 starts from 45k, with Fed rebate 40k, with provincial rebates (depends on where you live) about 32-35k. Now consider no gas, 3 years of free fast charging at Electrify Canada Fast chargers and free charging at many public places and some work places. Also add no oil changes, because of regenerative breaking double the break replacement time and because of very few moving parts way less maintenance. No Engine tuning, No transmission tuning, No belt replacements and many more nos. 40k no provincial rebate ID4 will cost you about 550/month to finance, with provincial rebate about (435-475/month), 25k Civic will cost you about 350/month for financing. add more than 200 a month for gas, depending on your driving add or subtract to this, also add oil chances and recommended maintenance and you will spend about 600 a month or more on average. So actually this 45k SUV is cheaper to own and operate than 25k Civic and you are telling these cars are still expensive? Not in my opinion.

Both the Leaf and Bolts starts under 30K. Clearly you're not looking around.
