Just picked up a 98 at an estate sale. Full of dust and sitting 12 years. Bring it home, wash it down, get a battery in it and find out it only has 197 miles. Looking under the fenders and see the original sticker from the factory assembly line. It started and ran just fine. Cleaned up beautiful. Paint is awesome.

Somehow, I think the newer Heritage has lost its 'soul.' My old 2011 96b just makes me feel more connected to the past. I'm 74 years old, so take that into consideration, too.😂

I have a 2004 in the same color. Totally stock. Rode 6k miles one year. Its a real Classic. I came from 30 years riding Evolution Softails and was a bit sceptical about the fuel injection and the camshaft chain tensioner problems. But doing regular checks of the tensioners made me sleep well. This might be my last bike, if it doesnt break down. Hope to ride another 100k miles. The newer and actual models arent my cup of tea, as I dont like too much electronics. Anyways, nice presentation.

I like the old heritage way better. That’s why I bought a 2016 with 9k miles on it instead of a new 2024 heritage. Yea the new ones have more lean angle but it came at a cost. It feels more cramped and not as comfy as the old heritage. I wanted something to tour on but didn’t want a fairing and wasn’t crazy about the road king. Always wanted a heritage but the new ones just didn’t feel right. More cramped and just felt smaller than old heritage. So tried a used 2016 heritage….perfect !

Each offer their own advantages from certain points of views. The 88 cu in or any twin cam will always sound better to me than the m8. However, the advancement in ride comfort and handling means I’d sacrifice sound for performance.

I've got a 2016 Heritage. 2017 was the last year they kept that look. Then the new Heritage came out with the 107 and 114. Right off the bat, I was not a fan of the new look. To this day, I still prefer the older Leather saddle bags. They are bigger than the new Heritage hard lockable cases. And I prefer the way the older saddle bags look. Over the last few years, I've started to like the look of the newer Heritages, after seeing some videos of folks customizing up their new heritages.

I just bought a 2016 heritage with 9k miles on it instead of a new 2024. I like the old ones much better. The new ones felt cramped and not as comfortable. The old one feels more planted on the highway too…more like a road king. I dunno what actually changed about them but that better lean angle and stuff on the new ones came at a cost somewhere. I was looking for a touring bike but didn’t want a fairing bike and didn’t really like the road king much either. But the old heritage was perfect !! Plus I got my mint 2016 with 9k miles on it for 11k instead of 26k for a new one 😂. The salesman all claim the new heritage is better but I sure didn’t agree

My first Harley came after I rode dirt bikes and some street legal dirt bikes. I traded my last dirt bike in on a used Suzuki 800cc cruiser. Then, I traded that for a used 1300cc Yamaha. Finally, I was like, “What am I doing buying Harley want-to-be’s? Why not just get a Harley?!!” In 2007, I bought my first new street bike, a 2008 Heritage. It was a great bike. My wife and I rode it all over the state of TN, where we live. We took weekend trips, rode through the mountains. We rode a little bit into other states, like KY, AL and GA, but mainly stayed in TN. I eventually moved into a Road King and then a Ultra Limited. Now, I travel all over the nation. My wife and I have been in about half the states so far. Anyway, I want to say that the Heritage is a great bike! Especially with the upgrades over the years. Any ride within 4 hours if you’re going 2-up will be great. Longer than that, you might want a touring chassis. Solo rides I believe 6 or 8 hours is fine in a day. Few people ride more than that anyway. The Heritage is lighter and more agile. Great pick for many reasons.

My 2005 Heritage was the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden. I'm probably going to buy a used newer model within the next year. I do like the new ones more than the older ones. It still looks classic, but with more modern technology. I was never a fan of the round metal studs, so to me, the black plastic ones look better.

I've got a "20", bought it new. @ 12:30 on this video, your talking about the gauge display. Something you forgot to mention here is inside the lower end, glass above the fuel display will fog up from moisture getting in. Even at 75+ and sunshine ! Takes a few hrs of riding for it to clear. And HARLEY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT ! Was told at a few dealerships,,, "That's Normal"! Not being able to see 20% of the instrument cluster is normal ??!!!

I don’t like the newer ones. I actively sought out a 2016 heritage instead of a new one. Got a mint 2016 with only 9500 miles on it for 11k bucks. A new one was 26k. Insane. And the old heritage has been around so long they just about had everything perfect. The new ones just didn’t rub me right. They supposed to handle and corner better but the old ones seem more comfy and float down road like a Cadillac. The new ones are stiffer. Anyhow hope you get it sorted out. Seems like quality of everything went to shit around 2019 whether cars or bikes. The old model heritage was a proven machine with many years of service 👍

Well done! Top marks. Thank you for the insight and history lesson. May I suggest a shotgun microphone or a lavalier mic attached to a smartphone, or recorder. This will reduce the background noise and improve the production quality.
