Unlikely. We have the numbers from the RXT-X 300 - performance hasn't changed. We'll have true VBOX numbers from the RXP-X 300 soon enough and do an article comparing all of these numbers together.

Have the fx svho has gotten that much faster over the last few years also? Since we aren't talking in turns just straight line should so the same difference rite?
@watercraftjournal4 жыл бұрын
No, not exactly. The 2019+ hull of the FX is a faster, more precise design (that is, once you replace the drag-inducing ride plate with a RIVA plate). And yes, we ARE talking turns. The new FX design has proven itself on both the open ocean and closed course in recent years. If you are asking in regards to pure acceleration between the 2019+ and the 2012-2018, there's been quite a few changes to give the latter version the lead (although we do not have hard numbers).

@@watercraftjournal is it even a contender to the gp1800r svho that is the fx svho in the number you were doin in this video or does the 1800 walk it. I always go with the fx series cause I ride alot in rough water and I know it's better in that sense like waaay off shore.
@watercraftjournal4 жыл бұрын
Go with the FX and don't worry about it. These tests are all done on GLASS inside of a freshwater overflow, so you won't encounter anyone replicating these speeds out on the ocean anyways. Get the FX and love the hell out of it and stop worrying about fractions of a second in acceleration.

Hey Tracey, Kevin here. No it wouldn't, because per this reasoning, the '18 GP wouldn't have cavitated as badly. More weight means better bite (why the '18 RXT-X fared better out of the hole). The '21 is able to launch demonstrably harder due to improvements made to the pump, intake grate and ECU.

My explanation is Yamaha added horsepower to GP over the years, Yamaha never disclose their horsepower on their GP model, when gp1800r first came out people gueestimate about 250 horsepower and gp got more than a second faster over 3 years and I think it now has about 320-350 horsepower which make sense since Yamaha has the biggest engine in the industry
@watercraftjournal4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, no. The BHP (brake horsepower) has remained 255 since its inception. The difference is improved traction/hookup, superior power-to-weight ratio, and less clutch slippage. It's really very simple - it's not about having MORE horsepower, it's about using it better.
