Kevin, for choppy waters you prefer the GTI hull instead of the ST3 hull. Is the GTI platform the best hull of sea doo for choppy conditions?

HI Kevin, I enjoy watching your videos. I currently own a 2021 RXTX300 and my son has 2019 VX Cruiser with TR1. When i rode VX i noticed that at speed it much more stable at choppy water , much stable at doing donuts. at my rxtx i always under pressure with steering to counter. I am considering to get 2022 FX Limited SVHO. Will it be better rider even then VX and RXTX? Thank you

I missed the main show which is why I did my superchat after. I need to stop obsessing over the STX just because I own one. I do wonder why Kawasaki added cruise control to the base STX-160 for 2024. Kinda made the X model pointless because you can just buy the 160 and add improved handlebar grips yourself or whatever. I’m also in favor of trim on the LX not KSRD like you suggested. I’m ok with the manual reverse. Would much rather have trim. But that’s just my opinion. What do I know? You’re the expert

I think the biggest thing that I was unprepared when I started racing was the water conditions you get when 16 skis are on the course at once. I remember my first practice at my first race (Pensacola, 93) and how much more difficult it was vs. practicing with a couple of buddies on the lake. I am talking about stand-ups. The runabouts had rough water also but it was a bit easier to handle on a big, heavy ski.

Hey Kevin, have you heard of or made content in regards of Yamaha PWC's with audio not being able to connect/pair up to phones? I bought a new 2023 VX Limited HO and it wont pair up to my phone or anyone else's. Met another VX owner and my phone paired to his ski but his phone also wouldn't pair to my ski. The wires from the fuse panel for the audio (PBS) are wired to the battery. The audio does power on and attempts to pair but then fails. I have taken my ski back to the dealer for them to check it out and they don't have an answer to the problem but want to charge me $149 for shop time. I know of 4 others from a FB owners page that have the same issue and 2 of us have dealers that are "waiting to hear back from Yamaha tech".

I am very curious about the reliability of the new 1.9L HO motor. I know the 1.8L was an engine with great reliability, but I am always a little wary the year after major updates...especially with all the updates and changes they make to the 1.9L. The things I am most concerned with is the new bearing material, reduced oil capacity, changes they made to the cylinder head, etc. Any insight half way through this summer riding season with issues popping up? I have already seen a used one on Marketplace with 100 hours for sale. I have not been able to find anything on Google between the VX, FX, and their jet boats with anyone having issues.

But now compared to a touring bike as we progress to the more fun things being a dual sport and finally a dirt bike or what bike be considered a stand up Jetski, crazy fun btw 🤪 So let’s digress and pose a question… You mean to tell me Seadoo just invented & pioneered a BMW GS 1200 version of a Jetski???????? Hey Kevin I have 2024 fx cruiser ho and I can see some paint marks on my sliders from loading ,what should a guy do to deal with this while there is still paint on hull for most part undamaged . I am almost floating it completely on to trailer as to limit rubbing between trailer sliders and machine .

I never owned a jet ski. I am considering getting either a gtr230, gtx230 or a rxtx300. Can i get any advice and buying one and which year jetski would be best to go for?

I sold my 2019 FX to purposely buy a 2022 FX with the SMC hull...The better question we should be asking is why are the 2019-2021 model years the main ones with this issue when Nano2 hulls have been used on FX's since 2015...what makes the 2015-2018 hulls so different?

I've found just rinsing/flushing with fresh water after running in salt water to be just as effective as any of these saltaway products. If you want to get anal about it simply add a little Dawn detergent into the mix.

I just purchased the new gp1900 ho without audio because all I wanted was a fast, fun to ride ski. Personally, I’d rather not pay an addition $3-4K for cup holders, audio, a weird looking seat, and a larger touch screen.

For me this PWC fulfills the brief for the solo fisherman who lacks home storage. Its far more practical to launch,retrieve and store this watercraft then it is to store a small fishing boat, and has far more performance then any small fishing boat at this price point. Its not a "fun" ski, its really just a fishpro with accessories that make it even more comfortable for longer hauls. Personally, i want one, as winter here is cold, but the winter sun is usually shining and the bay i live on (largest salt water bay in Australia) is generally far calmer in the winter months. When i want to get wet i take my worked purple hull waveraider out and smoke out the locals 😂.

Kevin, After I go riding my seadoo should I unscrew the drain plugs ? I was told by a friend to unscrew the 2 plugs for a little while , is that to let the inside dry? whats the purpose of unscrewing the drain plugs ?

Just picked up a 2024 rxpx. Wow!! Did 5.6 hrs yesterday and she is ripping hard! The turning on this machine is incredible! The rough water stability is nothing like anything i have been on. You can be in rough water and turn at 60mph with confidence. After 3 hrs time it would hit 70 on speedo in under 5 seconds. Still only reving to 78-8 krpm but it was 90 degrees out.

Having both companys sponsons it comes down to 1 thing only. If you like the older skis way of riding get worx. If you want nothing to do but turn sharp the rivas are what you want.

I’m looking at 160LX-S tomorrow , 2023 leftover, 12500 . Is it worth it? This will be the wife’s machine, she’s been riding Seadoo GTR for a couple seasons. We are ready for a second ski and willing to change brands. Our local Seadoo dealer tried to scam us so I’m willing to give KW a try for the wife.

My c5 tows just fine lol. But hard to get tongue weight and height just right. It can pull a couple ski, or our trailer with slicks and tools.

I’ve recently looked into Kawasaki untra X as a possibility. I’ve found any place near me that actually sells and has Kawi is asking upper $18K for 22/23 models. So you are correct they have priced themselves above serious consideration. One large dealer told me they try not to stock them as they are a hard sell. Sad because like a lot about the kawi.

I know this is an old video, but I’m thinking of buying a 2017 VXR with only 26 hours on it. It’s for sale at my. Local Yamaha dealer. As much as I would like to buy a 2024 GP 1800 R. This would save me almost $10,000 or more. Is a VXR still a good ski in 2024?. Looking to ride on Lake Ontario mostly me but will bring along my daughter and my wife some of the time. I know it’s from Yamaha dealership, but there’s no warranty and I’m kind of nervous about that.
