I had a 2003 Yukon XL for 14 years. Needed only one repair the whole time. It was a two wheel drive 5.3. I could pull boats up the ramp backwards, forwards and never slipped a tire. Even on rocks. Sold it garage kept in nearly perfect condition. The GX will be my next SUV.

Hi! There are a lot of door lock settings in the Setup menu. Menu > Setup > Vehicle > Vehicle Customize > Door Lock Settings. If you don't see what you're looking for there, try the Sound Settings from the main setup menu. Hopefully that will get it for you. If not, a Technician will have more access with their computer for additional customizations as well.

I transitioned from a Tacoma TRD Pro and was pleased to see the remote start using the key fob is also an option on my new 2022 GX. Great detailed review. From a 15 to a 22, Like the climate control buttons, added cameras. Miss the layout of the older off-road switches & suspension control (airplane like) , the buttons next to the screen were great in cold weather when driving with gloves.. older screen required less finger dexterity while driving and located at an ideal distance for a driver and I’m not even that old.

@@NorthsideLexus I don't own one yet. I just love that car. I am so debating if to get one, when my lease is done on my Cherokee. I might buy the 22 or 23 this time and run it to the ground. 2 issues I have here, 1) It drinks more gas then I drink water (Premium) Bad news. 2) This V8 needs and needs yesterday 2 more gears. The fact that the car is so quite, you do hear the RPM on the HWYs. I drove one. Its hungry for at least 2 more gears up. Its a shame, no improvement all these years. Other then that, this truck is amazing !!!!!!!!!!

I haven't seen a tire pressure customization in the settings in the vehicle for the GX, but you may want to check with your service department. There are a lot of additional customizations that can be done through the computer. A Technician would probably be able to check that for you at your next maintenance appointment.

Just purchased a 2023 Lexus GX460 and I found this video and thought it was just simply outstanding in helping explain all of the features of the GX. Very simple and straight forward, thanks so much for doing this. I do have one question though.... on the split screen, when touching the icons way over to the right of the screen, you can cycle through NAV, Audio, Trip Info, etc....for the Audio, is there a way to have all of the preset stations listed here?.....vs....having to go to the main audio screen? Would like to have the NAV showing on the main screen, all of the preset audio stations listed to the right (split screen). Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Question: At 1:24:00, is this last icon really for 'smart (air) flow'? My 2023 manual says it disables "operation of the rear air conditioning system using the Rear air conditioning system control panel." I haven't tried it yet, but it seems to describe a 'lock out' mechanism of the rear A/C HVAC controls ...?

Thanks so much! Yes, S-Flow, sometimes called "Smart Flow," directs air to occupied seats. The front seats have weight sensors and the back seats are usually triggered by the seatbelt being buckled. However, if the system doesn't automatically start operating for all zones, I think it is important to know how to turn operate it. When it is selected (on), then air flow can be off in the back and even the front passenger seat. If you want air in the entire cabin, make sure S-Flow is disabled (off). Hope this helps! :)

Great video! Just got my 2023 GX460. Love it so far. Is there a button on the inside of the vehicle to pop the back window while in park? For example, when picking up curb side groceries or something. I’m also assuming the side mirrors don’t fold in when you lock the vehicle. I see the button to fold them, but it just doesn’t do it authentically when it’s locked. Can I use the key fob to start the vehicle or just the app?

Hi! Thanks for watching. The button inside the GX will open the entire back door, but not just the window. I sure wish they would add that capability. The mirrors will only fold when you lock the vehicle if you have the Auto Folding mirrors and have them set to Auto. And yes, you can set up the Lexus Remote Connect feature in the Lexus App to be able to remote start the GX. It is an awesome feature to have for sure! 4:35 Lexus App

Hi! Congrats on your new GX! Thanks for your question. The Trailer Sway Control feature is operated automatically. Here's the information from the Owner's Manual: On line OM pg. 369: "Trailer Sway Control Helps the driver to control trailer sway by selectively applying brake pressure for individual wheels and reducing driving torque when trailer sway is detected." So it is on and ready to help if needed, and does not have a physical control in the vehicle. The section in the OM about Driving assist systems is really good. I hope it helps. For the sunroof do you need yo keep the button pressed until the roof is completely opened?

Hi! You can play with a short press and a long press. The short press will get it moving and then will stop and start to make small incremental adjustments, either for the open or the close. if you do a longer press it will open or close. Hi! Congrats on your new GX! You can do a lot of things with the vehicle in Accessory mode (don't apply the brake and press the start button two times), but not all. If an item is grayed out or doesn't show on screen, you will need to turn the vehicle all the way on to get full functionality. Thanks for checking in.

Hi! The GX has the laminated front glass only. So driver and front passenger. The rear glass is single pane. The best way to check for the laminated glass is to open the window slightly, look at the top edge of the glass, if there is a groove or indentation between the outside and inside of the glass, that usually indicates the dual laminated glass has been installed. One quick question if possible, do these vehicles need the initial 1000 mile oil change? For the break in?

Hi! The GX doesn't show an oil change needed until the 10k or 1 year mark. Some people do still like to change the oil every 5k. If you have your Owner's Manual packet, look for a very small booklet about the maintenance schedules. That might help as well. Thanks so much for checking in !

A great video review. Great for my 2023 as well. Question? All of our previous Lexus vehicles with Nav have had Pause or Suspend guidance with resume to restart. All the way back to 2009. 2019 RX had pause also. Cannot find a Pause route on 2023 GX, did find mute guidance, helps some.Would prefer a pause. Any thoughts? THNX

Hi! I'm sorry for the delay. I have tested this for you on a comparable model and you are correct. They seem to have removed the Pause/Resume guidance feature. When I gave the "Hey Lexus, pause guidance" command the system canceled the guidance. Then when trying "Hey Lexus, resume guidance." I got a message that sounded like it was trying to do what I ask, but nothing actually showed on the map. You can mute the guidance when a route is in and you can cancel then ask "Hey Lexus, show resent destinations" and click on the most recent location, but pausing does not seem possible any more. Out of curiosity, I tried the same things with Siri for Apple Maps and the phone navigation app also did not allow me to pause. It seems like the Lexus NAV is designed to be much more like a phone NAV app than ever before. I'm sorry I wasn't able to find a better solution for you. Thanks very much for checking in with me.

Hello Melissa, we picked up our 2022 GX 460 Luxury yesterday. We love it, however it appears the location you suggested to store the first aid kit is being used for a speaker? Sub woofer, I suppose because we have the Mark Levinson upgrade? Any other suggestion where to store it? Thanks again.

Well, yay for the Mark Levinson sounds system, but boo for missing that little storage cubby. Since the 3rd row seats fold into the floor there is not storage there. The glove box up front may be your best option. Let me know what you decide.

Hi June, Thanks for checking in. Which app are you having volume control issue with for Android Auto? Here are some general tips: 1. First try adjusting the volume on the car (the same volume for radio or phone) 2. If that doesn't get it, adjust the volume control on the side of your phone 3. Some apps have their own volume controls, especially music and navigation apps. You will need to adjust those in the individual app settings on your phone. 4. If you're still have trouble, clear the cache on your phone, close all open apps in your task manager and reboot your phone. I hope this will get it situated for you. Thanks again for watching!

Great video! I just took delivery of my 2023 GX 460 in Nori Green 😁. Would you happen to know how I can enable the "auto folding" side mirrors instead of hitting the manual button everytime? I was told by the dealer that it had the option but haven't had any luck location the function. Thank you in advance!

Hi! The auto folding mirrors are activated when the car is locked. If your GX is equipped with Auto Folding Mirrors, just set them to Auto and when you lock the car they will fold in. Thanks so much for being here!

@@NorthsideLexus they have automated folding mirrors if the button is pushed but there no "auto" button anywhere near the side mirror adjustment panel.

@@guardian123452 I see. It sounds like they have power folding mirrors, but not the auto-folding component. They have to have the "Auto" selector to fold automatically. I'm sorry there isn't a way to add that after the fact from the factory. 😔

Hi! The GX is equipped with Lane Departure Alert, but it does not include the Lane Centering feature that is on some other models. It does have the Sway Warning which is helpful. Thanks for checking in.

Hi. This is a great video. I think that it will be great to say which packages come with the options that you are discussing. I ordered my lexus with premium package thinking that it will come with 360 degree backup camera as well as the camera for off roading but it doesn't. Not sure which Package offered it but it is kind of late for me as the car is already purchased but might help future gx buyers. Thanks

Question for you. I was told today, by a customer service rep from Lexus Corporate USA, that the 2022 GX 460 was not designed to have a tow hitch, that Lexus did not and is not at this moment planning on making a tow hitch for this vehicle. If you are looking for a tow hitch for this vehicle apparently Lexus dealers are not allowed to sell it to you or install it. So basically if you are buying this truck with the idea that you may want to tow something you will have to find an aftermarket one somewhere. Can you shed some light on this? My Lexus dealer had one for me and they were not allowed to install it as per Lexus orders.

@@dennisolmstead7418 i don’t know where you are but, my service manager found new old stock trailer hitches . He ordered 2 and told me to bring the truck in to try it. Fit like a glove. He told me it’s a 2016 tow hitch. It is brand new. The socket is on a bracket that has to be bent down a little bit to gain about a half inch of clearance since the bumper on the 2022 is a little different design. When I parked my car next to another one that was there there was no difference in style or design. The technician said all the bolts lined up perfectly.

I enjoy your videos which are very informative. I just purchased a 2022 GX460 from Westside Lexus. No one seems to know why the MID display - set on the digital speed screen - has a two-tone display. There is a line through the middle of the digital speed number - such as 0. The top half of the 0 is lighter in tone than the bottom half which is somewhat grayed out. Why?

Hi Rob, What you are describing is correct. We aren't sure why the visuals were designed that way, but it is intentionally two tone in the center with some sections gray (like the lower half of the number being gray) and some sections white (like you're seeing in the top half of the number). Then there is a blue menu bar across the top. They use white, gray and blue throughout the entire multi-information display. It doesn't seem to be customizable. They do a lot of testing to make sure the color, lighting and layouts are easy to quickly read, prevent eye fatigue and glair, etc. It could have something to do with that or it was purely a design or style choice. I haven't spoken with a chief engineer about the GX, but if I ever get an opportunity, I'll be happy to ask about it. Thanks so much for shopping with us at Westside Lexus! How do you activate the auto flash signal feature on this GX460? you just tap once and the flasher automatically flashes 3, 5, 7 times for lane changing

Hi! The current GX does not have a customization for the lane change feature. You can do a "soft hold" of the stalk, where it will flash while you hold it slightly up or down without clicking all the way for a turn. But we will not see customizable flashes until the redesigned model comes out later in 2024. Thanks for checking in.

Hi! Hmmmm. That's a tough one. I love that Captains chairs give the easiest access to the 3rd row, so if you have kiddos using all rows, that could be the way to go. BUT, if you need that one more spot for an additional person, the bench will be necessary. Sorry, that's kind of a non-answer answer. It just really depends on the seating you need.
